“House great! Just don’t complain or You’ll see another side to Jane!”

Reviewed 3 May 2022

So we stayed here a few months back and when we were there we were very happy, it was clean and host was responsive. However, we were not allowed the heating on without a message asking why? Someone … More

Response from the owner Hi Allanah as per our previous messages, sorry you feel this way. I only knew there were 4 of you when you mentioned the kids in messages but the booking request I got through from AirBnb was for 3 people (and still is if you have a look) which is generally our maximum occupancy. I bent over backwards to accommodate a booking request that was made less than 24 hours before arrival. We do not have CCTV as previously suggested. Hot tubs are tested and checked daily, which is a legal requirement and detailed in the listing, you met Janette when she was in one day I think. She told me one of the days she was in to test the tub the cover was off and the tub was on, there was no one in the garden and door was shut to house which isn't ideal. The heating in the house was on but had been changed and set on constant and was turned up to 26 degrees. This caused an issue that the neighbour flagged as the overheating was meaning the boiler made a noise and that is why I contacted you as usually the house is really warm and I was worried something was going on and I maybe needed to get someone out. Otherwise I wouldn't have been on the app, the heating is reset to the standard setting after every guest otherwise I have no reason to go onto Hive. A large trailer parked opposite the entrance to the flats that was the issue, it's already a tight street and having it parked where it was was not ideal for residents. It's a narrow street and as I said when you checked in we generally have allocated spaces. I did not leave you a shocking review, I left you an honest review detailing the points I raised above. Good relations with our neighbours is incredibly important to us hence why we I give details for parking on check in details and also why I contacted you when a neighbour raised the boiler issue. Thank you for flagging your issues from your point of view and hopefully the explanation will reassure future guests that the only person you may see is Janette who is our amazing cleaner who also checks the tub daily to ensure all the chemicals are at a safe level throughout your stay.
