Description from owner

Description

Orchard Cottage is a delightful, comfortable and tastefully furnished detached cottage, located in the hamlet of Strefford, which lies in the heart of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It offers privacy, an ideal central location, homely environment and beautiful secluded gardens which look out on Wenlock Edge. There are lovely walks from the cottage and a wide variety of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding neighbourhood offering excellent food and friendly hospitality. The rural surroundings are ideal for both walkers and cyclists.

There are 2 bedrooms (one twin & one double) sleeping a maximum of four people. There is a comfortable and homely lounge with a wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen/dining area and a patio overlooking delightful private gardens. Free wi-fi is also provided. Off road and secluded parking for up to two cars

Assistance dogs are always welcome but, following refurbishment of the cottage, we no longer accept pets. Children of five years and over are also welcome! (Steep stairs and lack of space for a cot make the property unsuitable for small children).

Just 10 minutes from Church Stretton, 15 minutes to Ludlow and 30 minutes to Shrewsbury, most of Shropshire's popular and respected tourist attractions and places of historical interest are all within easy reach. A trip to either North or South Wales can be undertaken in less than 2 hours and the beautiful hills and lakes of mid Wales are a short drive away.

Orchard Cottage is maintained to nationally recognised 4 star standards.

Getting around

Strefford is a rural hamlet, so a car is recommended. The A49 is just minutes away, and traffic is generally fairly light, making trips to nearby towns, pubs and restaurants quick and easy. There is a good rail service from Craven Arms to the north, the south, and to both south & mid Wales. The Heart of Wales line travels through particularly stunning scenery.

Interaction with guest

The owners live next door and so always welcome guests personally. Being close by, they are available to answer any queries and deal with any problems, but also like to leave guests in peace to enjoy their holiday!
