- Very Good
We love the place. The cross breeze were great. The view is unbelievable. Place is very clean and modern. Short distance to all the restaurants. Olivia and her father were very easy to work with. We will rent this place again when we go back to Puerto Rico in few years.
“Fantastic Apartment Perfect Location”
Perfect location to stay in Old San Juan. It was walking distance to everything. The apartment was modern, comfortable, and very clean and had everything you needed. It was airy and stayed cool with the breeze off the water. The condo was quiet there was no street noise day or night. The large balcony with views of the harbor was fantastic. Olivia is prompt at responding to your inquiries and was very professional. Luis was also very friendly and helpful. My stay was very enjoyable and I highly recommend this condo.
“Wonderful location in Old San Juan”
Perfect spot to stay to explore Old San Juan. The apartment exceeded our expectations, everything that we could want was included. Luis met us upon our arrival, helped us with our luggage and gave us some great tips on the area. The view of the harbor was breathtaking, we could sit on the deck in the evening and enjoy the breeze. We were able to cook breakfast and lunch and just go out for dinner. The apartment was within walking distance of everything, it really is in the perfect location and Olivia and Luis could not have been more helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
“FEEL AT HOME IN OLD SAN JUAN”
The photos that Olivia and Luis use to showcase this apartment don’t do it justice - the view is amazing. The apartment is ideally located; top floor of a modern block facing the magnificent harbour, so you can watch the enormous ships make their way in and out. Full of light and fresh air, it has balconies off the living and dining rooms so you can take full advantage of the view. The apartment has modern appliances and they all work, it’s secure and has air con in the bedroom so you can sleep. Being on the edge of old San Juan, you escape the noise of traffic and people walking the crowded, narrow streets, but you can walk to the heart of the old city in minutes. There’s a small supermarket nearby and, if you’re crazy enough to hire a car and deal with traffic jams that are worse than Bangkok, there’s a public car park right next door that charges $3-4 o’night. Luis is a goldmine of info about where to go, where to eat and what to see, so ask him anything. I highly recommend this apartment and Olivia is a delight to deal with.
We had a wonderful time at La Puntilla. Luis was very accommodating and helpful with advice. The apartment overlooks the waterfront so we could watch the cruise ships coming in and out - if our ship had been docked on those piers, we could have walked there, but ours was at the International Pier. It is a close walk to everything in Old San Juan (but could be a bit noisy occasionally - we weren't too bothered by that). It was very convenient to have Wifi and laundry - only thing missing was a small TV to keep up with news. There was always a breeze, so the temperature was fine - if the rain started, we would have to close the shutters, but that looks like the norm in Old San Juan. The one negative would be for those who have mobility problems as there is no elevator and it is 4 floors up. However, it allowed us to work off our Cruise ship weight! Overall, would definitely recommend and return, as long as climbing stairs is not an issue. thanks Luis and Olivia!
“Perfect Stay at La Puntilla in Old San Juan”
My husband & I stayed at La Puntilla for 2 nights after our week-long cruise ended in San Juan before flying home. It was perfect for us. First, Olivia was very accommodating, answering any concerns or questions we had promptly. We had a very early arrival into San Juan, which Olivia was able to arrange for our luggage to be held upon arrival so we could explore the city until the unit was ready for check in. Cristian was a pleasure to deal with. The apartment itself was great. French doors opening to balconies with beautiful views of the waterfront & city, a very comfortable air conditioned bedroom, nice kitchen area to prepare meals or snacks, and lovely living & dining areas which were kept cool by the breezes. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the cruise ships come in and out. It was a perfect setting. It was especially a beautiful place to enjoy the evenings. We loved exploring Old San Juan. There is so much to see. We walked everywhere, and having La Puntilla to return to was perfect. We were there on the weekend and were able to enjoy music, crafts and food stands right behind La Puntilla. As noted in the description, it is a gated apartment community with a four floor walk up, so it may not be for everyone. Carrying luggage up & down may be difficult for some. It isn't a hotel where you can call down for extra towels or room service. But for us, we felt it had everything we needed and added to our experience in Old San Juan. We would definitely recommend La Puntilla and hope to return one day.
“Perfect Location- Perfect stay!”
Location-Location-Location! First and foremost we loved getting a better feel for the old town area than any standard hotel could ever offer. We were within a block of live music, street vendors, and walking distance to the cruise ship pier.We took advantage of the free bus system and saw both forts as well as other attractions with ease. The condo itself, while older, is immaculate and well cared for and the complex is secure.Several sets of French doors looking out on the harbor make it truly unique and enjoyable. We sat outside in the evenings, even in a rain storm and enjoyed it immensely. We loved our stay and could not be more pleased with the level of communication and ease of transactions. Olivia was professional and prompt in every way as was her property manager Cristian. Our deposit was returned within days of leaving this wonderful apartment. Thanks so much and we will be back!
“I had a blast at La Puntilla!”
The condo that I stayed at with my girlfriend was delightful. It was white in appearance, very clean, and pretty. The one not so great thing was that the apartment was hot. But, you expect that when you stay at a Caribbean island during the summer time. My girlfriend and I remedied that problem right away by opening up the terrace doors in which there were six that were able to be opened. The ocean breeze felt great, especially, when sitting on the terrace looking out at Old San Juan's gorgeous coast. Not to mention the fact that since my girlfriend and I did so much exploring, we were hardly in our apartment. So, the inside heat was hardly a concern. I'm someone who loves the air conditioner as well as a good breeze. The bedroom has one so I had no problem sleeping. However, if the bedroom aC is running, you really won't feel the air if you're in the living room or in the kitchen. So, keep those doors open and you'll have no problem. I fell in love with Old San Juan. And, the fact that La Puntilla is located there made me eager to explore this town. The condo is only walking distance from various restaurants, shops, and what not. It's very close to a street called La Princesa, which lights up at night and is romantic. All in all, I had no problem staying at La Puntilla. Staying at a great place like this really made the whole Puerto Rico trip even more enjoyable.
Last spring my friend and I spent 10 days in Olivia's apartment. It was a very pleasant experience. This apartment is in the middle of everything - all the best Old San Juan restaurants are around the corner, the art exhibition space is across the street and one more benefit -you can always find a parking space either on the street, or at the parking lot nearby. Olivia's apartment is decorated with taste and has everything you need for a short stay. I have stayed in various apartments in the area and may say that Olivia's place is the best!
“Great Stay in OSJ!”
I stayed in the condo with my boyfriend in June 2012 for 3 nights and we had a great time. The apt was very nice and in a good location, close walking distance to all the restaurants and shops in OSJ. It has a great view of the ocean and all the cruise ships with a nice balcony. The bed was comfortable and there was a big closet to store all of our clothes. there is a/C in the bedroom, but not in the living room, which was a little hot in the summertime, but we were out all day exploring so it didn't matter. Know that the apt is up 4 flights of stairs on the top floor and there is no elevator. However the host was great and met us late at night to let us in and helped us with our bags. There was also some leftover booze in the fridge which was nice ;) Overall great stay in a great place and for an affordable price.
