“ageing cottage”

Reviewed 3 Mar 2015

We stayed there in February 2015 and we were somewhat disappointed about the condition of the cottage. Surley once that was a cozy and kind place but it seams like the owner did nothing to protect the property from weathering. The washing maschine an the dryer are so rusty that the clothes were discoloured after using and the bathroom has also seen much better days. There are no real lamps only bulbs in the rooms and only one per room! A lot of the amentities listed on flipkey are not true: soap/shampoo provided, safe, toaster, books (mouldly). The promised internet access was only installed after request and only for notebooks. The only very good was the house kepper Yari. She realy tried to make our stay enjoyable. All in all it was not that bad but for the money we payed we expected a higher standard. If you want to stay in Manzanillo (really nice place) better try "congo bongo cottages". They are next door and looked much better.

Response from the owner Dear Norman, I am sorry your stay was not all that you hoped for, and I thank you for pointing out things that need doing. Yari has just come on board, and little by little we are getting things done. We did get a new toaster oven, but have never had a toaster. We are planning to sand and varnish the bathroom after reading your review and talking with Yari. And we now have proper internet. At any rate, I hope you were able to enjoy our beautiful yoga and meditation deck, the open air dining area, and the wildlife right on our property. All the best, Sita

“A Wonderful Retreat!”

Reviewed 15 May 2011

We had an amazing stay at La Patita and I truly hope that someday we'll get to go back. The house is in a wonderful natural setting but not too secluded from towns nearby. I loved the openess of the home. I felt very connected to nature and myself there and would just sit on the deck many times throughout the days to quietly observe birds, butterflies, monkeys and even a few very zen sloths! The beaches are gorgeous, and it's not hard to find a mostly secluded beach if that's what you're looking for (and we were!) The owners and caretakers of the home were very available and helpful in making sure we felt comfortable during our stay. This place overall felt very dear to me and it was such an big highlight of our trip. Very grateful for our experience there... thank you Sita and Tom!
