Description

The Parlour is a beautifully converted barn located on our family farm in the rolling Hertfordshire countryside. With a woodburning stove, exposed beams and sunny terrace, the Parlour is a fantastic place to stay all year round. Whether you like walking, cycling, visiting the many local attractions or historical towns (such as Cambridge, St Albans, Hertford, Duxford, Harry Potter Studio etc) or want a base close to London but away from the hustle and bustle this is the place for you.

The Parlour is a stunning 2 bedroom property with two ensuites and an additional cloakroom. Each bedroom has a double bed as well as a double sofa bed in the living room and a single bed can be added to the larger bedroom to sleep up to 7 guests. (Please request the sofa bed and single bed if required). Children and 1 small pet are very welcome.

The Parlour is located less than a mile from 2 pubs, farm shop and a cafe and only 15 minutes from Stevenage where you can catch the train directly into London (20 mins). It is set in a courtyard with two other properties - The Creamery and The Dairy, which are also available for short breaks.

Reviewed 29 Aug 2020

Thank you so much Emma , Owen and the lovely Melanie. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel so welcome, they were excellent hosts and even welcomed our dog Ruby ( Which a lot of places don't do). Great local walks, lovely country pubs and yet larger towns only a short drive away. We had a really relaxing time, just what we needed. ! We would recommend that people try the barns as their staycation choice ..... they are lovely and the whole team take great pride in the business and really strive for great customer satisfaction. you won't be disappointed..

“Nice but room for improvement”

Response from the owner We are truly sorry that there are a few things that need improvement in The Parlour and we are now on the case to rectify these straight away as we take all negative comments very seriously and pride ourselves on being a luxury property. In regards to the hot water, unfortunately when the barns were built, hot water tanks were installed, therefore on the odd occasion when the hot water from the tank has been used you do unfortunately have to wait a little while for it to heat up again. This is not something that guests usually complain about, but in light of your comments we are now looking into other ways of having the hot water running constantly for our guests. With regards to the cleanliness of the barn, we can only apologise as we do have a team of cleaners who are supposed to deep clean the barns whenever someone leaves. We will be passing this information onto the cleaners and making sure that we continually check the standard of the cleaning. We really do appreciate your feedback and maybe we will see you again in the future. Best wishes Jenny and Emma
