“This home was just perfect!”
Casa Paloma was so charming and cozy, yet fully updated, and met our family's needs perfectly. The location was great, too. It is very nicely "tucked away" in a nice neighborhood with parking right in front (quite the amenity considering many places we visited!), but never took longer than about 20-30 minutes in any direction to see all the sights we wanted, and really check out San Diego and the surrounding area. We were so grateful to have everything we needed to just relax and enjoy ourselves. The kitchen is fully stocked, so prepping and cooking all our breakfasts before heading out each day was easy. All we had to do was bring the food, which was also a cinch, because there's a grocery store right up the road! We went to several beaches, and it was really convenient to have all the beach gear there for us to use! Also, having a washer & dryer in the home (with laundry soap & softener supplied for us!) ended up coming in quite handy a couple of times. Truly, this place has that home-away-from-home feel, and we can't wait to come visit again soon!
“Excellent accomodations, Wonderful Hosts, Great Location!!!”
My wife and I booked Casa Paloma as a joint birthday present to each other and we could not have been more happy with the choice. The location is perfect for the zoo, Sea World, Mission Bay, French Quarter, beaches, marinas, etc. The home itself is so warm and inviting it is just like being home, only with some great amenities, The owners, Paula and Keith, are very attentive and accommodating and wanted to make sure we had a great time. Also the website is one of the best I have experienced in providing guests every tool needed to make sure your visit is everything you could want. My family and I will definitely stay here again every opportunity we have when in San Diego and I cannot recommend more this to anyone visiting the San Diego area. You will not be disappointed.
“Wonderful oasis to relax after busy days”
We enjoyed our stay at Casa Paloma very much. Paula was great with providing restaraunt recommendations and beach chairs and other items for the beach. They seemed to think of everything we might need and it was a great place to relax.
The house is quite spacious with a large, bright kitchen and all the amenities you'd want or need -- and then some. Nestled into a very quiet neighbourhood, it's still within walking distance of a good grocery store and just a short cab ride from the airport and Balboa Park. Although the owners live on the same property, our space felt very private. And the owner was exceptionally warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in making whatever improvement we might be able to offer. All in all a great place to stay at a very reasonable price!
“Casa Paloma is a home away from home”
We stayed at Casa Paloma for a week when I had a surgery in San Diego. Considering the circumstances I had a really nice relaxing time and felt my every need was met during our stay. Paula and Keith were gracious and friendly when we arrived. There were gorgeous fresh cut flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for us. During our stay we only saw them when we called to make a request. When we needed anything including directions or restaurant recommendations. Paula was readily available to help. The house was very comfortable and fully stocked with everything we could need. My 2 year old was with us so Paula put a tub of rubber duckies in the fountain which kept her occupied the whole week! The casita is in a very safe family neighborhood just minutes from the beach and the zoo ..only blocks away from the university district which has lots of good restaurants and cute shops. After our stay I had accidentally left a few items. Paula promptly priority mailed them to me. Paula and Keith truly are quality people who run a classy and comfortable casita. We will return to Casa Paloma anytime we are in San Diego
“Great location, quiet, and comfortable! Highly recommended!”
It was located in a great neighborhood and just 5 minutes away from groceries, restaurants, and shopping. It was very close to all the major attractions, about a 5-10 minute drive to the zoo, downtown, old town, etc... The home itself felt just like home. Everything inside was fully functioning, stove, lighting, internet, satellite TV. Can't ask for much more. It beats staying in a hotel for sure. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is traveling to San Diego, particularly those with children.
“A Wonderful Week Back in San Diego”
In addition to reconnecting with family and old friends, we were delicated with our stay at Casa Paloma. The house is spacious, tasteful and Paula provided all of the extras such as discount musuem ticket coupons. The location is ideal: easy walk to restaurants and shopping and central location for driving to the beach or other SD attractions. Thanks Paula for facilitating a wonderful week and the beautiful weather.
“An oasis of relaxation, yet close to every attraction and event.”
Ready for fun and adventure in sunny San Diego? How about a quiet evening on the patio enjoying some wine and a good book? Or, an evening soaking in the jetted tub followed-up with a movie on TV (when is the last time you put that phone or tablet down and watched a movie? I thought so!). I found all this and more when I chose to stay at Casa Paloma. A great oasis, a retreat feel, but always just minutes away from all that San Diego has to offer.
Response from the manager Andrew -- happy to hear the two of you enjoyed your stay and had a chance to unwind, relax and catch up on movies! We hope to see you again during baseball season so you can take advantage of our Padres season tickets behind the 3rd base dugout!! Cheers, Paula p.s. thanks for the thoughtful "Padres" gift -- we loved it and promise to wear Navy Blue all season (no more Sedona Red, even when the Dbacks are in town).
“It has everything you could ask for in a vacation home especiall”
Paula and Keith have created a wonderful place to stay in San Diego. The house could not be in a better spot. You are very close to many of the sites everyone comes to San Diego to visit. Even the grocery stores are very close. The house itself is not just nicely appointed it has everything in it you might expect to be in your home. Little things such as condiments, spices and even cooking oil are there. To round this place out, Paula and Keith could not be better hosts. They met us showed us around and took an active interest in our plans helping us with directions and even discounts at the zoo. We could not imagine staying anywhere else when we visit San Diego.
I highly recommend Casa Paloma. It's a beautiful home with more amenities than any vacation rental I have ever rented, which are numerous. You won't have to purchase any basic items since the house is well stocked with shampoo, napkins, paper towels and even cooking spices! We prepared a Thanksgiving dinner for 8 and the Casa even had a roasting pan for our turkey! This lovely home is centrally located to all that San Diego has to offer, including Balboa Park, Zoo, Little Italy, Seaport Village and the Gaslamp Quarter. Grocery shopping, restaurants and the airport complete its premium location! This is the place to stay if you want to be in the heart of the city within a charming & classic San Diego neighborhood. The owners, Paula and Keith were welcoming not only to us but to our guests as well. There is a lovely garden patio with comfortable seating, a fountain, table for six, and propane heater for a chilly evening. I even decided to miss some of the group's sightseeing adventures so that I could enjoy more time relaxing "at home". Don't hesitate renting this jewel!
Response from the manager Lisa - Thank you so much for the kind words. And thank you for the suggestion regarding the fireplace - Keith installed a new gas insert which is far easier (and cleaner) for our guests to use during the cooler winter months. Several of our recent guests send you their compliments for suggesting the fireplace conversion! Hope you and your friends make it back to San Diego for another reunion. I had a blast meeting you and want to thank you for inviting me over to share some wine in the courtyard. We look forward to your next visit. Cheers, Paula
