Description
Combe Cottage is beautifully situated on the edge of Winsford village in the heart of Exmoor National Park. This spacious detached cottage sleeps up to 6 (plus cot) in 4 en-suite bedrooms and has been renovated to a very high standard. The cottage has a large open plan kitchen and living area, with underfloor heating and a woodburning stove for chillier days, plus a beautiful conservatory/garden room which enjoys the sun all day. There is an enclosed south-facing garden of approximately half an acre with wonderful views towards the Punchbowl and Winsford Hill in one direction, and over the fields towards the village in the other.
The cottage's flexible accommodation and large enclosed garden make it perfect for families and small groups of friends. It would also suit those with limited mobility as there are two double bedrooms downstairs with two single bedrooms upstairs.
In the centre of the pretty village of Winsford, which is a 5 minute stroll away, you'll find the famous 12th century thatched Royal Oak Inn, which serves great food and is very family and dog friendly. There is also a village green with swings and a stream.
There is loads to do in the area - enjoy beautiful walks and cycle routes right from the door, visit the historic clapper bridge at Tarr Steps and paddle in the River Barle, have a day at the beach, visit nearby National Trust properties Arlington Court, Knightshayes Court and Dunster Castle or spend the day at Exmoor Zoo, sit out under the stars in Europe's first Dark Sky Reserve or simply relax in the garden or by the fire and enjoy the peace.
Travel cot and high chair available free of charge on request.
Dogs are welcome at no extra charge (max 2 dogs per booking). Please note that dogs are not allowed upstairs, in any of the bedrooms or on the furniture. Please bring your own dog bed and towels.

“Heavenly Exmoor”
Just spent a week at this cottage and can’t wait to go back. We have holidayed at many different places on Exmoor over the years but this cottage is perfectly located- walking distance from the village with a lovely pub at it heart and nestled into the hillside with fabulous views down the valley. A great base for getting to Tarr Steps, Withypool& only half an hour’s drive to the towns of Minehead ( for fresh fish n chips) on the coast and 15 mins to Dulverton (cream tea!) The cottage is modern , clean and spacious with lovely views from the conservatory and a nice large garden. The bedrooms are all tastefully decorated with their own en suite bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The fully equipped kitchen is open plan into the dining and lounge areas which makes for easy communication! The washer dryer is located under the stairs which keeps the noise contained. Parking outside on the gated drive. An abundance of wild birds visit the half acre garden and a footpath to the ‘punch bowl’ runs along the bottom behind the perimeter fence.

“Fit for a king- or queen ;)”
Beautiful house set on a quiet lane. Fabulous interior- my family actually took off their shoes and put them in the right place thanks to the provision of a good place for shoes!! Bedrooms so spacious and comfortable and the under floor heating so efficient. En-suite in each room helped tremendously- it’s put our home house to shame!!! (We have no hot water at present!!) conservatory wonderful to sit in- the whole house is spacious yet really cosy. Footpaths are all around and it’s just a fabulous place to go- we booked for next year as we left. Catherine and Bill are such lovely people -am looking forward to seeing them again
