Description from owner
Description
Set in the heart of our working organic farm the newly renovated farmhouse has been adapted to accommodate up to fifteen people for self-catering purposes. As the main residence for the farm the house retains all the old features including ray burn in the kitchen, and log burner in the living space with extensive gardens outside. The farm is ideally located for touring the south west with access to many footpaths and cycle routes across the stunning countryside.
The farmhouse is set around mature gardens with a sunny south facing courtyard and grassed spaces for games (please note that there is a duck pond to one side of the house). The house is centrally heated.
The ground floor comprises of a large open plan kitchen with a Rayburn and an electric cooker and is complete with all the equipment you need to prepare a tasty roast dinner including cutlery, crockery, glasses and cookware. At the centre of the kitchen is a traditional oak table with chairs and bench ideal for informal dining. (Please note that the kitchen table can seat 12 people at one time therefore larger groups may have to consider staggered meal times)
Beyond the kitchen is the boot room with lots of space for wellington boots and wet weather gear as well as a toilet and washbasin. Also on the ground floor is a comfortable lounge with sofas, and a wood burner. A projector can be arranged with a screen for movie displays. The first of the bedrooms is located on this level and has direct access to a large shower room fitted with an M pack suite suitable for disabled, elderly or infirm guests. A further shower is also available.
Upstairs are five bedrooms all with new pine furnishings and named after birds that visit the farm. There are a variety of bunk beds and each room has a chest of drawers, door hooks with hangers and mirrors. Linen & towels packs are provided and left in the dining area so that you can choose which beds to use.
Please note that the maximum group size is 15 guests for self-catering purposes even though there are more beds.
No smoking/vaping is permitted in the farmhouse however, designated smoking areas are available. As a working farm we are unable to accept pets.
Generous car parking is available on-site along a short pathway to the centre. Disabled parking is available next to the farmhouse. A Cob Pizza Oven can be booked for your use during your stay and is surrounded by several picnic tables . A fire pit is also available. Please note a minimum stay of two nights generally - 3 nights at Bank holidays.

“Luxury bunkhouse style accommodation - great for group of friends”
I've just returned from a low-fi hen weekend at Magdalen's Farmhouse and it was a brilliant place. The Farmhouse was affordable and way more comfortable that I had expected, plus we had great fun exploring the farm and meeting the piglets! Particularly great was the bunkroom layout - quite a few rooms all with 2 / 3 beds, so great for a group of friends who don't want to share beds nor have just one massive bunkroom. It was just right for our group of 8 girls. We also enjoyed the big farmhouse kitchen (well equipped), the log burner and the firepit in the huge garden. The only tiny downside was the lively ladybird population living in certain corners of the house - but it is the countryside after all!
