“Overpriced for the standard of accommodation”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2019

Lovely location, great South Downs walks as soon as get outside. Cottage dated needs some TLC. Garden is small with neighbours able to walk across it at will. Little privacy. Although to be fair did not cause a problem, but should be in the description, not the directions, once booked.

Response from the owner Thanks for your review. As you were a party of 3 it's obviously not as good value as for a party of 6 but I have noted your comments.

Response from the owner I have passed on your comments to my cleaners who will check each point. The leading in a roof valley was redone last year. However we have identified an area around a chimney which wasn't done correctly. We have arranged for the builder to redo this area which will stop dampness penetrating the chimney.

“Pepperpot Cottage is the perfect, pet-friendly place for a relaxing break in West Sussex.”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2017

Pepperpot Cottage is based in Compton, a small, pretty village in West Sussex. Very close to the cottage, the village has a lovely tea room, incorporating a handy village shop, which serves delicious home made cakes and seems to be popular with both walkers, cyclists and local people. The village also has the Coach and Horses pub which I have to say served the most fabulous food, so much so that we had dinner there on 2 nights and were so impressed with all the dishes we ordered. The brioche bread and butter pudding with apricots was particularly scrummy! The Victoria Inn, just outside the village, was also welcoming and good for food. The cottage itself has a really nice feel to it, is very comfortable, warm, cosy and very well-equipped. The cottage was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the open fire was a bonus. The wifi was reliable too! Gerald, the owner, was easy to communicate with both during the booking process and with subsequent questions, making the process very simple and straightforward. All in all, we and our 2 Cavaliers had the perfect break in a comfortable, relaxing cottage and would not hesitate to recommend Pepperpot Cottage to friends and family - and others! Nothing negative to report as we were very happy with our choice. Thanks Gerald!
