Standing at the gateway to Carding Mill Valley, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - Arden House is the perfect place to escape to the country to relax and unwind. With far reaching views across the surrounding Shropshire Hills - Arden House offers quality self-contained holiday apartments, with well-appointed kitchens, sleeping from two to six guests - all retaining the unique character of this Arts & Crafts country house.
With ample private parking, Arden House is only a short level walk from the centre of Church Stretton, with a wide selection of independent shops and quality restaurants. It is ideally situated for discovering the delights of Shropshire with the historic towns of Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Much Wenlock and the renowned food mecca of Ludlow all just 30 minutes away by car or even less by train.
The Darwin Apartment
As one of the pioneers of the Art & Crafts movement, the influences of Charles Renee Mackintosh can be seen throughout this elegant apartment. Available for a minimum of two nights, the Darwin Apartment offers flexible accommodation and can be taken with twin beds or super king-size bed - with luxury mattresses for the perfect night's rest.
With fabulous views of the Caradoc, the apartment offers open plan living - all recently refurbished. The apartment offers our guests the perfect home away from home – stylish, comfortable and where every requirement has been carefully taken into consideration - perfect to relax and unwind.
We have five-star reviews for cleanliness and all apartments will be deep-cleaned before arrival, all bed linen and towels are washed at sixty degrees.
All apartments are private and we can arrange check-ins without personal contact if our guests so wish.
The lounge/dining room offers ample seating, a dining table, desk, coffee table and a plasma TV with DVD player. The well-appointed kitchen has quality appliances including an oven with ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, toaster, microwave and ample pans, crockery, glasses and utensils.
The bedroom has a luxury mattress and bedding, with quality furnishings, hairdryer and ample storage and plenty of coat hangers. It can be taken with either a super king-size bed or twin beds and has a double wardrobe and drawers, a dressing table and ensuite bathroom with a shower, ample towels and toiletries.
For your convenience we provide bed linen, ample bath towels/sheets, an iron and ironing pad, cling film, tinfoil, dish washer and laundry tabs, washing-up liquid, dish clothes and tea towels. For your safety all electrical appliances are PAT tested, there is a fire extinguisher, a carbon monoxide monitor and a first aid kit.

“Great base for a family visit”
In a beautiful location but easy to find. A small but well equipped apartment in a fascinating Arts & Crafts house. We combined a family visit to Shrewsbury, a short drive away, with a walk on the Long Mynd, right on the doorstep - an excellent combination. Definitely worth a return visit.
