The Cotton Loft in Litton is a private, cosy and comfortably modern holiday studio, appealing to couples and single guests, looking to feel relaxed and refreshed, in a central village location. Perfect for your mini-break, and with fabulous walks/cycle routes from the doorstep, it is an ideal base to explore the natural environment, and get outdoors and active in the beautiful Peak District National Park.

Just a few steps from the local pub the Red Lion Inn, and just a short drive to visit Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell market town (famous for it's puddings), Castleton (Blue John mines & fab jewellery!), Buxton (famous Spa town and Opera House) and many more quaint villages.

Inside:

Downstairs is the compact kitchenette, complete with the simple basics of a kettle, toaster, microwave, single induction hob and small fridge, making the kitchenette just perfect for a pre-prepped meal, light bite or breakfast! Adjacent to this is the shower room, with a really lovely spacious shower, and complimentary guest toiletries, and the living/sleeping area is upstairs.

Sleeping arrangements are on the comfy double bed with blackout blinds for a restful nights sleep! There's 2 ergonomic easy chairs for chilling out on or for laptop use, a TV, dvd player and free wi-fi for your use. A small bistro table/chairs for 2 is also available to dine at. Cosy heating is via electric radiators, and hot water is via electric water heaters. All bedding, towels, crockery and cutlery are supplied, and there is tea/coffee and milk to get you started.

A great range of local walks and guide books, a dining guide and board games are available for your use. There is also free off-the-road car parking space for one car, a small outdoor seating area, and secure storage for bikes, climbing/walking equipment, golf clubs etc if required.

Getting around

A car is definitely advisable, depending on what you wish from your holiday. There are plenty of excellent walking routes from the doorstep, and we provide a range of guide books and maps for your use during your stay. Public transportation in the Litton area is minimal, however there are bus services to the bigger towns like Bakewell, Buxton and Chesterfield. The nearest large train stations are either Chesterfield, Sheffield or Manchester. Buxton and Hope Valley stations are a short journey away from Litton (20 mins by taxi) and are accessible from either Manchester or Sheffield train stations. Chesterfield station is a 30 min taxi journey from Litton.

As we live next door to The Cotton Loft, we are available for information as much, or as little as you require. Entry is by a secure key lock-box, for contactless self-check in.

“A gorgeous autumn location”

We stayed at the Cotton Loft for 2 nights in late October and it was beautiful. The village Litton was very quaint with the autumnal leaves and a delicious pub Red Lion, a short scenic walk to Tideswell where we had a fantastic breakfast and evening meal. We did a 3 hour walk from Tideswell so didnt even need to use the car. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything you need. Would return!
