‘Forget-me-not’ Cottage in Minehead, Somerset, is a Grade II Listed 16th century thatched holiday cottage with a secluded garden and its own stream. This beautiful holiday cottage is situated in the old part of Minehead where cobbled narrow streets are still lined with many ancient cottages. There is a church, a good pub and several restaurants nearby.

The holiday cottage itself is within easy walking distance of Minehead beach, shops and Minehead railway station. Minehead itself is a small Somerset town on the edge of Exmoor. Dunster, with its castle and picturesque market square is about 4 miles away and the area offers many walks through scenic coastal and moorland areas.

Although modernised, ‘Forget-me-not’ Cottage is a quaint cottage that provides everything you could wish for an enjoyable holiday in Minehead. The cottage retains lots of its charm and character, including window seats, inglenook fireplace, wooden beams and a narrow winding staircase. The cottage has a double room and twin room both with drawer storage and a wardrobe on the landing. We have two additional rollaway beds situated in the twin room which are suitable for children (4 single beds). The bathroom is situated on the ground floor and an additional WC situated in the outhouse. The bespoke kitchen has everything you could need if you decide to do some home cooking or to prepare breakfast to eat al fresco on the terraced garden in the morning sun.

Really great visit. Cottage was fantastic as previously. Covid rules set out and followed as requested. Definately enjoyed our stay and will certainly book again in the future.

“Simply perfect .”

We stayed here for 3 nights as we had tickets for the Madness house of fun weekender at Butlins . The cottage is situated up a hill just off the main shopping street in Minehead . It was really quiet and peaceful . The cottage was lovely and warm on our arrival and the owner left us milk , tea bags and cake! A nice touch . The kitchen and bathroom were clean and well equipped. Nice hot shower ! The beds were comfortable too. All in all a great find & we would definitely book again without hesitation .

“Great weekend”

Beautiful cottage with a lovely garden. Kids loved the stream! Location is excellent, only 10/15 walk away from the beach. Will definitely book again!

“Disappointing”

I was very disappointed with this cottage. The decor was old and dated, wood chip paper on walls that had gone a yellow colour and in many places peeling off. As soon as you walk in it smells damp, m ok mouldy and musky. There were rips in the net curtains and one of the chairs. Everything just seemed faded and past it's best. Trip advisor said that there was two bathrooms but there was only one down stairs and you are only allocated one hand towel, something I felt should have been communicated before hand, and when I contacted the owner she told me buy from Tesco or the high Street. The only plus for her was the back garden which was nice to sit in. Also steep hill for walking back from the shops. Wouldn't stay again or recommend.
