Description
Villa Rignana is in the heart of the Chianti and has all the features that a tourist expects from the Tuscan countryside. All around you can see the vineyards, olive groves and woods as well as the landscape, which in October is truly special. The vineyards, designed with geometrical precision, are colored with shades ranging from green to red, the oak forests are still green, but the other trees are tinged with an ocher color. Cypress trees, the true symbol of the Tuscan countryside, are everywhere. Even the access road is unpaved, as it was in the past, and one must be cautious when driving along it, especially with sports cars. The villa was originally a monastery from the 12th century and has been renovated and furnished, combining antique furniture with some unique pieces collected during the owners' travels. The exterior is characterized by a beautiful garden with herbs, an endless variety of roses and a beautiful pergola equipped for outdoor dining; Just above the property there is a swimming pool with infinity edge (8x18 depth 2,5m)(10/06-30/09) while further down in the terraced are there is a tennis court. Available to the guests: a boules pitch and a ping pong table. Animals are an integral part of the holiday: cute ponies and alpacas live in harmony in a fenced-in area on the property. The accommodation has Wi-Fi internet access and air conditioning in some of the bedrooms. On request and to be paid for: cook, maid service, cheese tasting with a local producer. Access through 4,5 km of dirt road. Parking on the property.
PLEASE NOTE: The second floor of the villa, with a completely independent entrance, is steadily occupied by the owners.
