Description from owner

Description

A perfect rural getaway for 2-4 right on the Shropshire Way in the Shropshire Hills designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This Shippen is a detached, light, spacious, open-plan barn conversion with contemporary styling and an oak and glass gable overlooking the fabulous, unspoilt Linley valley with great walks.

The property had been carefully renovated with exposed beams, oak double glazing, excellent insulation, central heating, a wood-burning stove, oak flooring and a stylish, modern, high-spec interior.

There is a well-stocked, fitted kitchen with breakfast bar as well as a dining table and benches, a wet room with shower and underfloor heating, large basin and toilet, a double sofa bed, corner sofa, smart T.V with FreeSat, NetFlicks and a PlayStation3 in the sitting area and good books, board games, extra blankets and lots of other home comforts.

There are double doors onto a large decking area with BBQ and outside seating. Guest parking directly outside the barn with a flagstone entrance.

The Shippen is very rural, surrounded by beautiful countryside with stunning views, miles and miles of fields and woodland walks and star-filled night skies and a brook for paddling at the bottom of the valley.

Steeped in peace and quiet, it’s located within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with Sites of Special Scientific Interest very close by. It’s ideal for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and kite flyers!

The Shropshire Way runs alongside the main house. It’s the perfect location for a rural getaway in so many ways. There are lots of pretty villages and market towns, castles, woodland and hills to explore. The area is great for birdwatching, romantic walks or more challenging hill walking, cycling, riding, golfing, hang gliding, good food, local music, book and arts festivals, houses and gardens.

Come prepared with food essentials for self-catering. Eat out nearby at The Bridges Inn or visit the market towns of Shrewsbury, Church Stretton or Bishop's Castle with their attractive streets, cafes, museums, breweries and arts and antiques- all an easy drive away, as is a large, well-stocked whole food store.

The area also has ruined and working castles to explore, Victorian farming museums, gastronomic delights in Ludlow and fantastic independent shopping in Shrewsbury.
