Description

COVID-19: we wish to inform you that during the new national restrictions starting from 5 November we will only be taking bookings from those who need to stay for work purposes or from those eligible to stay as indicated on the Gov website.

A spacious and elegant apartment on the middle floor of a Grade II listed Georgian house. The apartment is minutes away from the Market Place; it is in a peaceful location and so handy for all that Uppingham has to offer: great restaurants, lots of independent retailers may of which are family owned and run, antique shops and art galleries, all in a historic heritage setting.

We know the apartment very well as we renovated it and lived in it ourselves for four years. We now live further down the High street so are on hand to give any help or advice. We want you enjoy Uppingham as much as we do.

The apartment has its' own entrance, accessible through the passageway leading to the pretty courtyard.

The two main bedrooms have ample storage - a walk-in wardrobe in the bedroom at the front and a fitted wardrobe in the bedroom at the back. The third bedroom is small but it has a window and is big enough for a single bed. We anticipate it will be especially suitable for a child who does not want to share a double bed with their sibling!

Two nights minimum let. If you require the apartment for a longer period (eg waiting for a house purchase or a short-term working contract) please get in touch and we can discuss a discounted rate.

Rutland is the smallest county in England with 53 villages and just two towns: Oakham and Uppingham. Uppingham is the smaller town, and many would argue that it is the prettier of the two. It's an ideal place to come to eat or to generally mooch about in the many independent shops & galleries.

There is an award winning lovely new Sports Centre in the town (open to the public and non members) with various dance and exercise classes, squash, tennis courts and swimming pool. All within walking distance of our apartment in this quintessentially English town.

We provide kitchen essentials and welcome provisions such as tea, coffee (ground as well as Instant), sugar, milk, butter, marmalade etc. All dishwasher tablets, liquid and washing machine sachets/tablets, etc.

As we only live further down the street we are usually on hand to help out in any way. We can generally be flexible about check in and check out times too. We enjoy meeting our guests to give them keys and show them the apartment but after that the place is your own unless you need any assistance or local knowledge!

House rules

Guests should be aware it is a first floor apartment so we have stairs to climb. Inside the apartment there are 2 carpeted steps up to the bathroom.
No house parties allowed.
We have neighbours above and below us so like our guests to be considerate.
No outdoor shoes inside - please bring slippers!!

“Beautiful apartment in a peaceful location”

We stayed in this apartment over the bank holiday weekend and we couldn’t fault a thing. It is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and very clean. Although the apartment is on the High Street it is very quiet and peaceful. We especially liked the courtyard that was full of flowers where we could sit and relax. We met Sue on a couple of occasions and she was very helpful and friendly. If you plan to visit this area then we can highly recommend this apartment.

“Fantastic Apartment”

We stayed at the apartment for a couple of nights as my son was doing a play at the theatre. The apartment is spacious and clean. It is in an ideal location on the high street, so in walking distance of the local shops and bars. Sue left us a lovely fruit cake that she had baked which was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.
