Description from owner

Description

Situated in the heart of Kent with good access to all Kent has to offer and more. A well apportioned, pet friendly accommodation to sleep 2 on one level (we are sadly not able to accommodate wheelchair users due to the layout). Close to Bedgebury Pinetum and Go Ape, numerous National Trust and English Heritage sites, great walking opportunities, fishing lakes, Bewl Water and golf to name a few. If activity is your thing then we're not far from it or if you'd prefer to put your feet up then our relaxed surroundings are the place just for that. A mainline station is just 2.5 miles away, direct routes to London (50 mins) and Ashford International, ideal for a day trip to France. We have an active 6 acre small holding, with various animals. Fresh eggs from our chickens help to start the day and if you fancy something else to go with them, the shops at Marden or Goudhurst villages are only 2.5 miles away. There are a plethora of local pubs (The Unicorn, Star and Eagle, The Green Cross, West End Tavern, Goudhurst Inn are fine examples) offering a variety of great food, a diversity of real ales, lagers, wines and spirits, and entertainment to boot. For shopping the nearest town is Cranbrook (6 miles). Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells are not too much further afield, or for a larger shopping experience Bluewater is just 30 miles away. We are also very lucky to be close to the coast too, Hastings, Camber Sands, the RSPB at Dungeness, Whitstable and Herne Bay being very easily accessible. We're sure you won't be stuck to find something to occupy yourselves.

Getting around

As already mentioned, we are 2.5 miles from the mainline station to London and Ashford Interational. We have a local bus service that can be hailed at the end of our drive, but the service is limited. Taxis are available, but we are rural so can be slightly more expensive and advisable to book well in advance. The service is improving though and very reliable.

Interaction with guest

Guests are welcome to turn up and be left to their own devices. We are close at hand should the need arise for any questions, problems or a friendly chat. Currently during the global pandemic we are obviously following all government guidance regarding holiday accommodation, plus social distancing guidelines. You are more than welcome to contact us regarding this.
