Description
If you want to linger in Florence and yet you desire more than a hotel, the Villa Ippolita, Florence City, Tuscany, offers the perfect balance of luxury, historic beauty, and ideal location. An apartment in one of the city's landmark palazzos, it has been maintained to retain its 17th century features and charms. Set in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Florence and steps from the Santa Maria Novella station, it is a world all its own.
The three-bedroom villa is like a time capsule with its high domed ceilings painted with original frescoes, its gilded moldings, and its terra cotta floors, it is straight out of the 1600 and 1700s. Visitors are astonished when they enter the main hall. High gilded ceilings and the stunning views through the tall windows look out on Cappelle Medicee. The tea room is also frescoed and houses an impressive library, and the dining room also features original painted ceilings.
The kitchen moves you back into the current era and is a well-furnished space with commercial grade equipment and all that is needed to prepare meals and drinks. There is also a laundry room off of the kitchen and a smaller dining table as well.
The three bedrooms are modernized too, but retain any original features. The master bedroom features a bed alcove, an entertainment system, and a large en suite bath. The twin bedroom is on the mezzanine level and has a private bath. On the main level is the final, single bedroom with a private bath too.
The Villa Ippolita is a beautifully preserved example of the culture of Florence. It provides guest with a rare opportunity to stay in a historic quarter of a historic city, and in a home that is part of that history too. If you are going to remain in Florence during a visit in Tuscany, this villa may prove the perfect fit for your needs and wishes.
