Description

Mill Cottage is a cosy barn conversion located at the bottom of a shared driveway in the grounds of Swingate Mill, surrounded by fields with neighbouring horses and sheep overlooking the Kent countryside. It is ideally located for visiting the White Cliffs of Dover, Dover castle and nearby beaches in St Margaret's Bay and Kingsdown. The historic towns of Deal and Sandwich are close by, with Whitstable, Canterbury and Broadstairs also within easy reach.

The cottage itself has been lovingly refurbished by the present owners, providing a perfect country bolthole for one or two people.

It would also be ideal for someone working temporarily in the area. If you would like a Monday to Friday rate for a business stay please contact us.

We want you to feel at home in the cottage and we respect our guest’s privacy. You can let yourselves in via the lockbox and just relax. There’s a folder in the cottage containing local information and how things work in the cottage and I am contactable by phone if you need help with anything once you’ve arrived. Alternatively, I am happy to meet with you on arrival or during your stay if you prefer.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lyn (the owner) a message.

If Lyn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
