Description from owner

Description

Lime Cottage is a grade II listed mid 17th century built property positioned in the centre of Stogursey, an historic conservation village. There is a Spar convenience store with post office, Newsagents and the newly refurbished Greyhound pub that serves food. Within the Village there is plenty of history to explore including the 11th century Stogursey Castle ruins complete with moat, the church dating in places to 1117 and the usable fresh water spring.

This picturesque cottage boasts a thatched roof, courtyard and private garden, secure outbuilding and off road parking.

A double bedroom leads through to a twin bedroom on the upper level. A comfy sofa bed in the lounge (ideal if you would find the stairs challenging) newly refurbished shower room

and kitchen with dishwasher complete the ground floor.

The fully equipped cottage has freeview & catch-up television, Prime Video, a Blueray player and complimentary wifi. The stone-built period wash house contains all your laundry needs, patio furniture, BBQ and is ideal for storing bikes.

Lime Cottage is a comfy home from home base to explore Somerset and North Devon. We supply a comprehensive and up to date recommendations list of what to do, where to explore, places to eat & visit. Also, various walking books, maps etc.

The nearby Quantock Hills were designated the first area of outstanding natural beauty in the country. Excellent outdoor pursuits including walking, horse riding, fishing, road cycling and mounting biking are readily available. Wildlife locally include kites, sparrow hawk. goshawks, wild ponies, doe, muntjac & red deer, kingfisher, owls and more can be spotted. The coast is a mere two miles whilst the sandy beaches of Minehead are just a thirty minute drive west. The Somerset levels border to the east with a protected area for migrating birds.

Dunster Castle, the steam train at Bishops Lidyeard, Oatley Vineyard in Cannington and Watchet Harbour are amongst a host of places to visit locally.
