“Bolt hole”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2018

We had a lovely weekend at the bolt hole. The accommodation has everything you need. My only complaint would be that a lot of the kitchen utensils were dirty from previous tenants. The hob does need replacing but to be honest none of the mentioned problems effected our weekend. We will definitely be returning.

Response from the manager Unfortunately Maria suffered a couple of problems during her stay, and unfortunately these were exacerbated by us not speaking Dutch and Maria not speaking English. They very kindly reported that two of the hot plates weren't working so we immediately took down a two tiered electric steamer, with that and the microwave and two working hotplates and the double oven we thought they said this would be fine. I explained the underfloor heating which is controlled by a knob on the boiler which the guests had full access to, I obviously failed to explain clearly enough for which I can only apologise usually The Bolt Hile is very warm. We didn't not know the light was blinking in the bathroom and as this wasn't reported to us we had no knowledge this was happening. There is a light above the mirror which could have been used . Unfortunately occasionally problems happen we try very hard to rectify these, on this occasion the language barrier frustrated both of us I think.

Response from the manager Thanks for your review, so glad you found everything clean and tidy and that we were very convenient for seeing the Cotswolds. I can only apologise that you thought we have WiFi, we quite clearly state that we do not offer this in our advert and in the instruction from Trip Advisor. We did try to provide you with an alternative which unfortunately didn't work well enough for you both.

“Small and perfectly formed.”

Reviewed 13 May 2018

I had booked The Bolt Hole as a surprise 60th birthday for my then partner. Circumstances in last month changed resulting in the being our honeymoon. We could not have planned it better if we tried. The accommodation is lovely very clean with all you need in the kitchen. The surrounding area accessible by bus and we did a number of walks with the dogs which we had downloaded from the Cotswold council website. The Wheatsheaf pub is a 2 min stroll from the cottage and food and service there is exceptional. We had a super stay and plan to return to this little piece of heaven.

“Perfect Cotswold bolthole!”

Reviewed 21 Nov 2017

Very much enjoyed our two night stay at The Bolt Hole in Northleach which is perfect for a couple exploring the wonderful Costwolds as so well located. The town is extremely nice and our highlights were enjoying a glass of wine in the Ox House and sitting by the open fire in The Wheatsheaf, both of which are a literally only a few minutes walk away. The bungalow is exteremly clean and tidy and has all the amenities you'd require although only minor gripe is the lack of wifi as only my wife had any service which could cause issues with anyone attempting to contact you in an emergency. Beautiful towns and villages in the area and although Bourton-On-Water and Bibury are stunning the quieter Slaughters are very worth a visit along with Broadway. Would very much recommend.
