One of five beautifully crafted stone cottages built around a beautiful courtyard with water feature.

Walnut cottage is gloriously spacious and has an expansive open plan interior with fantastic views both out onto the stunning courtyard and also out onto the Swere valley. The sumptuous bathroom is perfect to start or end your day in indulgent luxury. There's a large Oak table equipped to dine 10 guests.

The crowning glory, Walnut occupies the top floor of the converted barn. From the outside solid Oak staircase you enter into the kitchen. Sunlight floods into the vast living area through an entire gable of elegant oak windows overlooking the courtyard. Competing for attention is the massive stone fireplace with its chimney breast towering up to the pitched ceiling of the sleeping gallery above.

This is reached from a solid elm staircase landing in front of a magnificent stone arched window giving glorious views down to the pond and across the picturesque valley from your super-king sized bed. A second bedroom with twin beds is accessed through the main bedroom. The spacious bathroom (on the same floor as the living room) has a separate shower. Exposed stone walls, oak beams, wood paneling and polished elm floor combine with the comfortable seating to create a warm and luxurious ambiance.

Getting around

The most convenient way to see the sights is by car as public transport from the farm is non existent! However, if you wish to have a day out we have great links to public transport from both Charlbury Train station (located 9.2 miles away) with routes to Oxford, Reading, London, Worcester and Great Malvern or from Banbury Train station (located 7.8 miles away) with routes to Oxford, London, Leamington Spa, Birmingham.

Interaction with guest

We welcome each of our guests in person and show you in to the cottage. We live on site so are available throughout your stay should you have any questions or need help with anything in the cottage. You are always welcome to come to reception for more local information, maps and leaflets. You will find fresh flowers and artisan cake on your arrival and the fire made up ready to light in the cold seasons. Unlimited free firewood and fresh spring water direct from the tap.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
