Description

Relax in our peaceful south facing lodge on the bank of the river Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to the world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre. For all of our 5* reviews see the main TripAdvisor site.

Enjoy spacious dining inside or out on the decking listening to the local woodpecker, swans and moorhens.

The centre of Stratford is just 1 mile away and you can take a river taxi from just near the lodge to the heart of Stratford past some amazing houses and gardens.

For sporting activities there are fishing rights on the river, a golf course just across the road, Stratford racecourse nearby and Cheltenham racecourse is just 1hour away by car.

The Riverside Club 2 minutes walk from the lodge offers a restaurant, bar and live entertainment at weekends.

Crazy golf and a children's play area are under cover.

Getting around

For an enchanting way to visit Stratford take the river taxi from near the lodge into the heart of Stratford, available from April 1st. There is a regular X17 bus service into Stratford from the entrance to Avon Park, a two minute ride for £2.50. Sadly you cannot walk the whole way from the lodge into Stratford along the towpath but if you drive 1/2 mile there is a car park and from here you can walk into Stratford or you can walk the whole way from Tiddington. If you need a taxi after the theatre it will cost less than £10 to get back to the lodge. Stratford is central to many places of interest which can be reached easily by road - Cheltenham, Warwick, Cadbury's World, Warwick Castle, Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Arden Farm and much more.

I am happy to communicate via email prior to your visit to answer any questions you may have. I live in North Shropshire so cannot be on hand to welcome you on arrival but my housekeeper will have left everything ready for your visit. My housekeeper lives in Stratford upon Avon and can be contacted on the phone number which you will find in the lodge if you need anything during your stay. If you would like any tourist information in advance do not hesitate to ask.

How do damage deposits work?
