Description

This dog friendly property has been graded a Good 4 Star in accordance with Visit England's Self-Catering Criterion.

This delightful, little house really is a romantic idyll, set in the beautiful gardens of a Grade II listed 16th century dower house and overlooking a private tennis court. The Pavilion has been beautifully furnished with a touch of romance and glamorous French style, having pretty painted antique furniture, gorgeous fabrics and delicate white bed linen. This luxury property which sleeps 2 has full sunshine all day and pretty plantation shutters internally, to keep cool on hot summer days and the log burning stove in the living area keeps guests warm and cosy on winter evenings.

There is a lovely veranda to the front for dining al fresco and enjoying the garden and to the side there is also a little paved patio leading off the bedroom, the perfect spot for a relaxed private morning coffee and a croissant in the summer months.

The delightful town of Tenterden with the pretty tree lined main street and weatherboarded houses is an easy stroll of just over a mile. The town has a great choice of independent shops, good restaurants and cafes to visit and whilst there a 'must do' is to hop onto the Tenterden and East Sussex steam railway and take afternoon tea on a magical trip to Bodiam Castle, with its fairytale turrets and moat. There are also many lovely country walks and cycle routes around the town to be enjoyed by more active guests. Just a short drive away is the acclaimed Chapel Down Winery and The Swan restaurant where you can dine on the finest local produce and award winning English wines. Heading for the coast and the medieval cinque port of Rye is a true step back in time with ancient winding cobbled streets and many artisan shops, or the atmospheric Winchelsea beach, a beautiful unspoilt beach that is rarely busy and perfect for beachcombing. But with such beautiful grounds surrounding the Pavilion you may just wish to stay in and enjoy your home from home - relax on the veranda, play a game of tennis, visit the ducklings in the natural pond or ask the Owners for a peek at the fascinating interior of historic Brunger House. Lovely walks opposite the house as dogs will need to be on a lead in the garden due to the ducks!

“Peace and quiet”

The Pavilion is so lovely and peaceful with all mod cons, situated within gorgeous grounds, and it's dog friendly too! Tenterden itself is a classy town, full of cafes and bars, and it's not far from the coast or Sssinghurst Castle or Hole Park Gardens.

It was a lovely location, peaceful, gardens were lovely, the pavilion is clean and beautifully presented, the high street is a pleasant shopping experience. Lots of local info in the Pavilion for tourist spots. I don't think they have forgotten anything. I think if Jo and Simon knew the reason for your stay, they would ensure it met the bill.

Response from the owner Dear Vanessa Thank you for your lovely review, it was so lovely to have you stay with us. I am sorry you had difficulties with the shower, Simon has now made the handle easier to use, and I have put some written instructions in the Pavilion on how to use the shower. Storage space is a little tight in The Pavilion but I would have been delighted to have given you more towels & dishwasher tablets during your 7 night stay. I am so pleased you had a lovely time, and managed to explore so much of the surrounding areas. All best wishes Jo
