Description

Byre 3 is one of three cottages on the former farmyard at 84 Westbrook. Google maps send you to a bungalow near the Westbrook pub-that is not us ! We are on the A3102 and 600 metres past the pub in the direction of Melksham.

It has a glorious view of the Wiltshire countryside from the living room. This is a spacious room comprising kitchen area , dining table and chairs and a comfortable lounge area with two sofas and TV. There are 2 bedrooms each with a wardrobe and shelf/drawer space. The bathroom has a shower rather than a bath.

The entrance has plenty of space for walking boots as the cottages are ideally suited as a base for walking holidays.

The price for one night is £90 but the price drops to £80 for two nights or more.

Getting around

Public transport is patchy but there are railway stations in Chippenham, Trowbridge and Westbury. Some buses go to Calne, Chippenham and Melksham from Bromham ( the nearest village) but transport or a country walk is required to reach Bromham from us.

Interaction with guest

We live in the Farmhouse so we are usually around to resolve any problems or queries our visitors may have but we are mindful that people are on holiday and we try not to interfere with their relaxation time.

“Lovely location”

The property was very clean and well presented, everything you need was already there. Whilst located in a quiet rural location, main towns were not that far away to stock up or visit. We had a great and relaxing time.

“A 800 mile trip”

The place was lovely and peaceful and the owners were very friendly. I wouldn't call it child friendly though as there is nothing separating the main road from the bungalows, door locks have no key inside. But it was clean and welcoming The double bed definitely needs replacing making all sorts of noises and I woke up in severe pain in my hip in the middle of the night plus the heating didnt work in one room or the hall, and the stank in the garden hasn't been sealed so every now and then there's a wiff in the air. Over all I would stay again if these issues are resolved.

Response from the owner Our door locks do not need keys inside as the lock opens from the inside on a thumb turn.These were changed to comply with the fire regulations & advice from the fire safety officer. The double bed is firm as many people like a firmer bed and is very new.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

If Bridget (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
