Description

The Signal Box is our gorgeous little studio; a quiet getaway in the Northumbrian countryside but within 10 minutes' drive of the coastal resort of Beadnell. It's situated in the village of Ellingham, has a log burner, south facing balcony overlooking fields and a private enclosed patio area. It's fully equipped for self-catering and is within a minute's walk of a great pub if you don't fancy cooking. Its name is our little touch of whimsy because we immediately thought of a signal box when we first saw it with its exterior wooden panelling.

The studio is accessed via an external staircase onto a south facing balcony complete with patio furniture. Large patio doors open into the open-plan living space, furnished with log burner, sofa seating for two, TV and DVD player, dining table and chairs, double bed, wardrobe and shower room. The kitchen has an induction hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge with ice-box, dishwasher and washing machine. There's also broadband WiFi so you can check out all the fab places to visit locally.

Outside there's the south facing balcony, plus fully enclosed patio area with a brick barbecue. There's also parking for one car on the driveway at the front of the property.

Our changeover days are Monday and Friday

Because of the external staircase to access the Signal Box, we do not recommend it for guests with limited mobility.

Getting around

A car is necessary as it allows you to explore the area and visit the many beaches and other places of interest locally. In addition, there is no shop in the village and only an infrequent bus service.

Interaction with guest

Whilst we do not live locally, we are always available by telephone should you need to contact us and we have a fantastic housekeeper who can deal with anything that we cannot deal with remotely.

How do damage deposits work?

If Jenny (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
