Description

This small apartment is part of a country house in a small hamlet situated near the medieval village of San Casciano V.P. right in the core of the well renowed area of Florentine Chianti, no more than 20 km far from the center of Florence.

The space

The aparment (2pax+2) is about 50 sqm.,

The living room with fireplace, the full equipped kitchen, the double bed room (beds can also be separted and the bath room with Jacuzzi; A sofabed for two is available at extra cost.

The apartment has its private outdoor area for a fresco dining, and there is also a large common area with lounges and umbrellas where large groups can gather together. The accommodation has been furnished with love and care, with Tuscan-colored walls, terracotta floors, original art and antiques, and beautiful fabrics.

Both bedroom and living room are equiped with air conditioning.

Guest access

The estate is surrounded by a vast green area (more than two hectares) disseminated of traditional tuscan olive trees. Beautiful isles of roses, rosemaries, lavander and brooms adorne the gardens adjacent to the buildings. The shared pool (14x 6.30 mt.; open from 5th of May to 28th September) is located among the olive trees. There is also a large common area with lounges and umbrellas where guests can gather.

Overview

This is the perfect starting point to explore Tuscany: All of the beautiful hill towns of Chianti are within easy reach. The location couldn't be better. The closest village, Mercatale Val di Pesa, has shops and restaurants and is just 5 minutes away by car (2 km) or 15 minutes walking across the fields. In the proximity of the estate there is a great variety of small trattorias and specialty restaurants - each night you can dine in a new place (you will find a list of recommendations and helpful hints about the region in your apartment).

Chianti of course is mainly famous for its wine and its very special extravirgin oil but it is also a wonderful land to explore and visit. It offers many oppurtunies for daily or half daily trips around with different destinations that can be easily reached within one hour or less driving. Just to mantion few: S. Gimignano with its 80 or more medioeval towers still perfectly preserved. Volterra that offers a perfect synthesis of historical monuments and traditional handmade manufacture with its noumerous alabaster workshops. Than Montalcino, Monteriggioni, Greve in Chianti, Panzano, Radda, Castellina, Volpaia and many other small villages disseminated everywhere in this unique landscape described by travellers from all over the world as one of the most beautiful spot on earth. Thanks to our pivotal location Florence, Siena, Pisa or Lucca and the other main tuscan cities are reachable in a very short time.

I'd like the house to be treated with respect, as if it were yours!

Respect also means do not leave the lights on if not necessary, when you leave home off the lights. The same thing for heating or air condioninig. In Italy utilities are very expensive, I do hope in your cooperation! !

“Holiday rental that ticked all the right boxes!”

We chose Borgo Rosa for our long term stay in Italy, as it fitted all the criteria that were important to us., We planned to stay in Tuscany for 2 to 3months, so we were looking for accomodation that was reasonably priced, self contained and comfortable, with mod cons such as washing machine and dryer, air conditions and heating, a functional kitchen, pleasant surrounds and a swimming pool to cool off in during hot August days. We also wanted to be within reasonable driving distance from all the towns and villages that we wanted to visit. We also wanted to be able to walk to a nearby village for coffee ( very important ) and to be able to shop for staples, without necessarily having to drive. Borgo Rosa is situated in Chianti, near San Casciano in Val di Pesa, and Mercatale was our nearest village. We were a 5 minute drive from the autostrada between Siena and Florence. Less than half an hour from Florence and 45 minutes from Siena. Perfect! We stayed initially in Suite 3, a one bedroom appartment, and later in the season moved to Suite 4, with two bedrooms. Both were perfect for our needs, tastefully decorated and most comfortable. Each had, like all the other suites, a private garden area and/or terrace which we could use for outdoor eating, and were within the larger property of olive groves, with pool and a BBQ! Very important for Aussies! Our fellow guests were charming, some with families and some gravelling in groups, of diverse origins, which made life interesting. Our host, Andrea was perfectly delightful. He was full of information re local places, events and most importantly, eating places, and was happy to drive us to where we wanted to go until we organised a car. He went out of his way to give help when needed, and we would look forward to hearing his morning " hello" when checking on us. My one and only complaint would be that Andrea was keen to practise his English, when I was keen to practise my Italian! Having grown up and lived in Floorence, meant that he was full of inside information from where to park, how to avoid limited traffic zones and restaurants frequented by locals, with wonderful food. We ended by becoming very good friends and we wouldn't hesitate to return should we be lucky enough to do so.
