Description

The apartment is part of a barn located in an a small hamlet situated near the medieval village of San Casciano V.P. in the well renowned are of Florentine Chianti , no more than 20 km far from the center of Florence and only a 40 minutes driving from Siena. Lucca, Pisa and the west coast are very easy to reach by car or train as well.

This is the perfect starting point to explore Tuscany: All of the beautiful hill towns of Chianti are within easy reach. The location couldn't be better. The closest village, Mercatale Val di Pesa, has shops and restaurants and is just 5 minutes away by car (2 km) or 15 minutes walking across the fields. In the proximity of the estate there is a great variety of small trattorias and specialty restaurants - each night you can dine in a new place (you will find a list of recommendations and helpful hints about the region in your apartment). Cooking classes for different levels or personal chef are available .

The apartment (4 pax+2) is about 100 sqm.,

Ground floor: entrance in the living room with fireplace, very large kitchen, small bathroom with shower; sofa-bed for two available at extra cost.

Second floor: 1 double bedroom, 1twin bedrooms (beds can be joined), 1 bathroom with shower plus jacuzzi tub. The two bedrooms are air-conditioned.

The accommodation has been furnished with love and care, with Tuscan-colored walls, terracotta floors, original art and antiques, and beautiful fabrics.

The apartment has its own private outside area with table and chairs, our guests can also make use of the common areas and barbecue area where you can eat. On request it is possible to use the oven and barbeque.

Guest Access

The estate is surrounded by a vast green area (more than two hectares) disseminated of traditional Tuscan olive trees. Beautiful isles of roses, rosemary, lavender and brooms adorn the gardens adjacent to the buildings. The shared pool (14x 6.30 mt.; open from 5th of May to 28th September) is located among the olive trees. There is also a large common area with lounges and umbrellas where guests can gather. There is also a ping pong table and a table football.

The region

Chianti is an area extending between Florence and Siena. It is famous for its unique landscape characterized by gently rolling hills covered by vineyards and olive trees. This land has a long history which still shines through the countless little medieval towns, small hamlets and castles scattered on the entire territory.

San Gimignano, Volterra, Greve in Chianti, Radda in Chianti Castellina or San Casciano V.P. are just some the beautiful landmarks you can visit in the area.

May be Chianti is mostly famous for its wine and olive oil and of course you can have wonderful wine experiences visiting cellars and testing different labels touring across the area but generally people associates this kind of holidays also to the food. It is not a secret that cookery here has always been one of the highest attraction and remarkable pursuit. Few places in the world can claim such an incomparable variety of dishes and typical recipes.

In summer, almost everywhere, there are lots of gastronomic events very often accompanied with fairs and parade with locals dressed with period costumes and live music concerts.

“Bravissimo”

Reviewed 6 Feb 2016

My daughters and I went on the trip of a lifetime with dear friends to Tuscany. We had the great fortune to stay at the breathtaking Il Frantoio di Villa Caserotta. The villa was nothing short of spectacular. The property was beautifully landscaped, the apartment well appointed with every amenity, and we were minutes from Florence, the farmers market, the coop (grocery store) and the train station. The pool was a highlight, as well as the outdoor bbq and patio dining area. We often prepared meals in the kitchen which had every item you could possibly need. Andrea and Claudia, the property owners, were wonderful hosts and so attentive and gracious in helping us plan our day trips and restaurant choices. We haven't stopped talking about the villa since we've returned, and hope to return soon.

“The Perfect Tuscan Retreat! Your Home-away-from-home has it all!”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2016

This villa is the ideal Tuscan retreat, with something for everyone, and a vast variety of activities for all seasons and all types of travelers-- whether you want to relax on the property's beautiful gardens, olive groves, poolside and patios; or explore the hundreds of charming towns and villages of the Chianti countryside (an easy 1-2 drive along winding roads lined with Cypress tress, and endless vineyards and olive groves); or venture to Florence --a short 25 minute trip. From this central location, even explorations to Cinque Terre or the farther reaches of Tuscany and beyond are easily reached. The thoughtful hosts leave you wanting for nothing! The villas are beautifully appointed, many conveniently have their own laundry for those lucky enough to enjoy an extended stay. Fresh flowers and Tuscan snacks in the fridge when you arrive was a particularly nice touch, as were a basket of hand picket lemons from the lemon trees!! And should you need anything at all, Andrea was always cheerfully ready, willing and able to fix or fetch it for you. His insights on local restaurants, suggested parking places, and "insider's guide" to Florence was invaluable. We truly felt like guests in his and his wife, Claudia's home--and to me, there is no better experience than that!

“Ahhhh Tuscany...Better than we ever imagined...”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2016

This villa was paradise. We were here with a large group, and as with any large group it is hard to please everyone but undoubtedly all in our party were in full agreement that this spot was incomparable. It was typically Italian. The views were magnificent and the villa itself was gorgeous. Each apartment had every amenity and was clean and decorated beautifully. Every detail was thought through to perfection. The meals were spectacular. Swimming in the pool surrounded by the grandeur of nature and loveliness of the villa was like a dream. Perhaps the best part was the kindness and charm of our most gracious hosts, Claudia and Andrea. I not only want to go back...I want to live there!

Response from the owner Thank you Therese! I don't know if we deserve so many appreciations but we take them anyway and for sure they are the best reward we could ever expect!
