This lovely 2-bedroom 2-bath vacation rental home-away-from-home, located at 811 Vanitie Ct. in Mission Beach, is steps to our beautiful Mission Bay and a few more steps to the Pacific ocean. It comprises the entire 1st floor of our brand new custom home on a charming court in North Mission Beach, San Diego, CA near the famous 5-star Catamaran Resort Hotel, offering a private fenced yard with gas BBQ, garden fountain and outdoor bayview eating area; AND, it is within a 5-10 minute walk to a wide variety of restaurants and shops and a short drive to SeaWorld and other local attractions. It's a perfect getaway!

You are comfortable in our hideaway regardless of the season: it is light and airy, with ceiling fans in each room for warmer days, and a fireplace and central thermostat heating during the cooler days. You have off-street parking for one car, a private washer/dryer, and much more:

Our Mission Bay Hideaway, in North Mission Bay, affords the vacationer all the best of the San Diego Beach and Bay atmosphere. Virtually everything is within a very short walking distance: the beach and bay with every conceivable water sport, marinas, bicycle paths, children’s playground, dozens of excellent restaurants and night clubs, lots of shops, a modern supermarket, internet café, local library, Post Office, Metro Bus Stop, and an amusement park and combination gym, indoor pool and wavehouse recreation facility. Most nights of the year, you can watch the evening fireworks from Sea World, a few miles away. Most other attractions in and around San Diego are just a short drive away.

We live in the upstairs 2nd & 3rd Floors and are available by text or doorbell at 809 Vanitie, 24/7 for any unforeseen issues. From our reviews we believe you'll find that most amenities are already available to you; however, we're always open to suggestions for improvements.

Response from the owner We are extremely appreciative of Suzan's review and the fact that she and her family were able to enjoy Christmas Dinner as well as all the amenities our Mission Bay Hideaway has to offer. We pride ourselves in offering a special location and allowing our guests to enjoy most of the same things we do in our upstairs home. As mentioned previously, we built our home in 2003 and with the downstairs 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment intended for our elderly parents. When we later had to move Mom and Dad upstairs with us, we converted the apartment to a vacation rental. Over the last 14 years we've been able to offer meet hundreds of wonderful folks from all over America as well as many foreign countries. It's aways heartwarming to receive wonderful reviews like this one from Suzan and we'll strive to meet the same expectations for many new guests in the future. Sincerely, Bill & Calina

Response from the owner It was special for us to be able to host LaDonna and her family and to help them enjoy Mission Beach for their week. One of the main purposes for their visit was to attend a Veterans' Motorcycle Convention in Mission Valley, a few miles inland by car, but they also wanted to afford the family a chance to enjoy the amenities of our beach and bay for their first visit to San Diego. One of the nice things about our location is that during peak traffic in both the AM & PM you're driving relatively unfettered while the traffic for the majority of commuters is going in the opposite direction. This allowed them to spend a lot more time in the beach during the convention days rather than on the road. Also, with being a retired military veteran couple ourselves, we felt privileged to host a military veteran's family and to offer them a nice discount for their stay. Although our published rates for Mission Bay Hideaway are relatively low for the Beach and Bay Area for our level of amenities, we regularly negotiate with 1st time guests to reach an equitable nightly rate that fits their planned budget. We believe that it's more important for newcomers to enjoy our wonderful apartment than to lose them because of financial concerns. They stayed 3 & 1/2 months, which allowed us to share a lot of experiences with them. Being able to get to know wonderful people from all over the world is one of the many bonuses associated with offering a vacation rental; and an added bonus is when families return year after year, treating our apartment as a second home. How do damage deposits work?
