A warm, welcoming lodge, 57 Spring Lake has been recently refurbished in a contemporary style and equipped to a very high standard throughout. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a break away with family or friends; a peaceful escape or a chance to try out exciting new activities; a relaxing lakeside retreat or a base to explore all that the Cotswolds has to offer, this is the place to be!

57 Spring Lake:

The lodge has a modern kitchen fully fitted with good quality appliances including dishwasher, double oven, induction hob, microwave, filter coffee machine, fridge, freezer and washing machine.

A lounge/diner with double doors leading onto a lovely private deck with steps down to the water’s edge. Comfortably accommodating six adults, there is a charcoal BBQ and outdoor furniture for alfresco eating, free fast BT Fibre 1 internet, a flat screen 39" TV with FreeSat and a DVD player plus a selection of books, games and DVDs. The under-stairs cupboard is useful for storing travel bags out of the way during your stay.

A lovely downstairs shower room with wc and hand basin compliments a refurbished upstairs bathroom with shower over.

The large master bedroom has a superbly comfortable Hypnos kingsize bed and full length windows make the most of the stunning views over Spring Lake. There is a fitted wardrobe, plenty of storage drawers and ample space for a travel cot if needed.

The double bedroom, with some views over a sailing lake, has a comfortable 4’6” double bed. There is limited walking space around the bed but plenty of storage drawer space plus a hanging rail.

The twin bedroom, also with some views over the sailing lake, is versatile with a comfortable 3’ single bed with another 3’ single stored underneath pulling out to the same height. Storage and walking space is limited but there is a bedside drawer unit, a unique corner cupboard and hanging rail.

Children are warmly welcomed to our lodge with a high chair, travel cot and stair gate, securely gated deck among other child friendly touches. Spring Lake has an adventure play area and there are safe dedicated paths for walking /biking, a life guard patrolled swimming beach nearby and an indoor leisure pool at Cotswold Holburne, which is sometime available to non-residents.

Set in well-tended communal gardens the lodge has one parking space (unallocated) opposite plus additional parking available on a first come basis.

Pets:

We understand how hard it is to leave those canine friends behind when grabbing short breaks away in the country and so we are pleased to welcome you with your pet. The lodge is perfectly located for dog owners with plenty of pathways and open countryside right on the doorstep. It is the ideal place for enjoying quality time with all the family without having to leave your pet at home.

Please note that the lodge is semi-detached and, therefore, would not be suitable if it is likely that your dog’s barking may disturb the neighbours. Pets are strictly not permitted upstairs and the bottom stair gate must be kept closed at all times. Failure to comply with this particular house rule will result in your refundable pet security deposit not being returned to you.

Our lodge provides a secure deck area to keep your pet safe; a stair gate which must be kept closed at all times; dedicated dog towels and an outside tap/hose to clean off after those great walks.

Our lodge is furnished to a high standard and our primary aim is to provide good quality, comfortable accommodation for all of our guests. In order to achieve this we ask any guests bringing pets to use the throws provided to protect the furnishings in the lounge area.

We also ask that you avoid leaving your dog in the lodge alone unless using a dog cage and you are confident the dog will remain quiet and settled.

Occupancy:

Flexible changeover.

Arrival time is after 4.00pm and departure time by 1100am (unless agreed otherwise with the owner).

Access is via a key safe, allowing you to arrive at a time to suit you.

Maximum occupancy throughout the rental period is six plus one infant.

No stag or hen groups allowed.

A small quantity of initial consumables is provided, however these are not intended to last the length of your stay.

No smoking is permitted in the lodge or on the decks.

£250 refundable security deposit is required with each booking plus an additional separate refundable pet security deposit of £90 - £120 if applicable. A £40 enhanced cleaning fee is payable plus an additional £25 cleaning fee to cover pet specific cleaning.

Please ensure you have adequate holiday insurance before booking.

Getting around

A car is recommended to explore this beautiful area but there are also plenty of public transport links: Airports: Bristol is closest at 45 miles but Birmingham at 78 miles has good train services to Kemble. Alternatively all the London airports are approximately 90-100 miles away with good rail links to Kemble or Swindon. Railway: Kemble: 4 miles (approximately £12 one-way taxi fare), Swindon: 11 miles (with good value station based taxis available for around £18 one-way) Bus: The number 51 stage coach bus usually operates hourly between Swindon and Cheltenham, stopping at Cricklade and Cirencester as well as South Cerney village and many other villages enroute. Fares are very inexpensive and bus stops are convenient to the lodge.

Interaction with guest

You will find a wealth of detailed information about the lodge in the Guest Information pack we send ahead of your stay and there are a vast range of leaflets for some of the many local activities. Alternatively if you have specific interests we are happy to help you research these and make recommendations where appropriate. We operate a key safe access system which gives our guests complete freedom to arrive at a time to suit them. No more panicking about travel delays to rendezvous with key holders at a set time! Clear details of how to use the key safe will be sent to you well ahead of your visit. Prior to your stay you will receive a welcome email which also includes contact details for myself and for our lodge management team.

“Fantastic Cotswolds break”

We had a brilliant time at Wendy’s holiday home. It was welcoming, ideally located and well equipped. Communication with Wendy was easy and any messages were answered quickly. This is an excellent place to base yourself for enjoying The Cotswolds. We had 3 children with us of which 2 were teenagers. There was so much for them to do. And the essential teen requirement.....good WiFi! I’d highly recommend!
