Description
This new barn conversion will please the most discerning visitor. It has recently received Gold Award and
5 star by Visit England and is simply breathtaking. It has a wonderful feel with stunning original beams mixed with contemporary features (like underfloor heating) including a fabulous open plan living space that is absolutely ideal for entertaining.
Set in peaceful hamlet of Doughton just 2 km from historic royal Tetbury you will find plenty to do and enjoy. We provide walking maps and advice, or you can simply relax in the huge sitting room by our lovely log fire.
-Having gathered your friends together why not book our local top class chef for that special celebration meal in the comfort of The Pantiles' huge living area. but unfortunately I can only send you his contact details when you have paid the balance
Or try some of Tetbury or Malmesbury's many exciting bistros, restaurants and pubs.
-With an enclosed south- facing garden and barbecue facilities next to the ancient moat under Doughton's 17th century manor house, you will lose yourselves in time while on holiday here.
In the house we keep descriptions and maps of short and longer walks, whether across the fields to the local pub or, after a short drive, to gaze across the Severn estuary into Wales
The house is on a farm and separated from existing listed cotswold stone buildings by its own front garden to the north, and enclosed walled garden to the south. It looks over the ancient water moat after which 'Doughton' [old english for 'Duck Farm' ] was named.
The farm is part of stewardship schemes to encourage wildlife and there are singing birds in abundance, and, if you get up early, you could see deer, foxes and hares. We also have horses, pigs and egg-laying chickens.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at £30 per dog
Further details indoors
The double bedroom upstairs can open onto a mezzanine overlooking the large living area and open fireplace. Downstairs we have a bedroom with en suite bathroom and loggia looking towards the ancient and lovely cotswold stone buildings of Doughton Manor.
If you wish to walk on the stunning Cotswold Scarp with its lovely rolling hill views, we have maps to guide you and space for your outdoor gear.
But if you want to be more sedentary, you could not do better than sink into our sofas by the jetmaster fire and relax - and we can offer you the services of a professional in- house chef if you don't want to cook .
There is underfloor heating with oak flooring downstairs, thick, fitted wool carpet on the stairs and above.
WHEELCHAIR USERS: The approach to the property has dropped kerb parking 3 metres from front door with smooth path and only needing a small ramp (supplied) to enter over the front door lip (8 cms). There is a downstairs double bedroom with en suite wet room. The main living and eating areas require no steps.

“Wonderful location for group reunion.”
Booked both barns, Pantiles and Dovecote, and we spent much of our time in the large communal area of Pantiles, which is a lovely space for communal eating and socialising. The barns are very well equipped, quiet and comfortable. The location was excellent for riding our bikes in the hills of the Cotswolds and the short walk in Tetbury for coffee, cake and stocking up.
