Description from owner

Description

The Coach House at Lynnholm in North Northumberland provides secluded accommodation for two situated on a West facing hillside with lovely views of the Cheviot Hills and the chance of spectacular sunsets. The house is set in a very quiet location on the edge of the moors 2 miles from Rothbury which offers most amenities including late night shopping. Ideal for walking, cycling, bird watching, castles, fishing, touring the countryside or just chilling. The Coach House has an enclosed garden and large sundecks where you can eat, drink and even cook (barbeque chiminea) outside and watch the sun go down over the distant horizons of the Cheviots and the Otterburn ranges. For those interested in wildlife, especially birds, it is worth bringing binoculars. Buzzards and Kestrels hunt over the garden almost every day, Sparrow Hawks are regular, Barn Owls and Peregrines occasional visitors. Roe Deer are resident and in fact the deer have become something of a nuisance. The house is centrally placed so that Alnwick, Bamburgh, the Farne Islands, Hadrian's Wall, Keilder Water and the Dark Skies Park, the Borders and Scotland are all within easy reach. It is very convenient for touring Northumberland and the Borders, for walking, cycling, birdwatching and fishing. .For those with bikes or mobility scooters we offer secure garage storage and parking for trailers, puncture repair kits, use of tools and a compressor. Free wifi.

“Excellent”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2021

We have just spent a week in this beautiful cottage, a perfect peaceful haven. It was just the right size for two and everything has been thought of with extra special touches that made us feel so welcome. Jackie and Graham are very attentive but inobtrusive hosts and we are looking forward to a return visit. The Coach House is an ideal base for so many activities but out of the way enough to escape the world for a truly relaxing break.

“Peaceful Sanctuary”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2020

Located up a track 2 miles from Rothbury, sits this little gem with beautiful views over the countryside and lots of birds visiting the bird feeders. There’s an award winning butchers in Rothbury and we sampled a variety of they’re sausages and also Bombay sausage rolls, delicious! We visited Nearby National Trust Cragside and very much enjoyed exploring the grounds and appreciating the autumn colours. Our trip to Alnwick gardens was also most enjoyable, especially as it was decorated for Halloween, that was a pleasant surprise. On returning to the lodge of an evening we fired up the chiminea and had a glass of wine or two, bliss! Would definitely return.
