Review #4627412 Fantastic Villa Our family spent two unforgettable weeks in late July and early august at Calicaribe, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, We can't say enough about Calicaribe. We loved the villa -- its layout and tasteful decor. The views of St Thomas, other islands, and Cruz Bay from the property, especially the guest house and the pool area, are breathtaking. Although the heat and humidity were high during the peak hours of each day, temperatures and humidity lowered late in the afternoon so that we could enjoy wine and cheese and the view, including spectacular sunsets, on the patio and dinner on the verandah. Pictures of the property on various websites don't do it justice. Calicaribe is much better than we expected. It is clean and very well maintained. Calicaribe is blessed with an excellent local property manager, Steve Black, who has lived in Cruz Bay for 25 years and is a constructive civic activist. Whenever we needed anything, Steve was prompt in his response. St John is truly paradise. We were fortunate to have a rental jeep to get around the island and to have our daughter and her partner do all the driving. The roads are challenging because the island is very hilly and the roads have very sharp turns, which means that one does not need to worry about exceeding the 20 mph speed limit. Opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving abound. The beaches (St John has 39 of them) are beautiful. We swam at four of them: Trunk Bay, Little Lameshur Bay, Hawksnest Bay, and Maho Bay. We ate out only three times because my daughter's partner loves to cook, and having dinner on the verandah was a pleasant experience. The Fish Trap and Zozo's are excellent restaurants in Cruz Bay, although the latter may be too expensive for some folks. We highly recommend a sojourn at Calicaribe. You'll get plenty of bang for your bucks.

“Excellent property and great destination!” Our stay here was wonderful! We just came back a few weeks ago (Jan 7-14) from our trip and we are ready to book for the next year! We had such a great time: Accommodations - The apartment is very clean and modern. It has nice comfortable beds and lovely décor in every room. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary utensils and appliances. Bathrooms are clean and modern. I loved the cherry wood doors and marble countertops all around. There is a large balcony that you can eat or relax out on. Beach chairs, towels etc. is also provided for you. Beach - you can go downstairs and you are at the Bolongo Bay beach, its lovely, you have all the water sports options that you would find at a typical resort right there. If you walk past the restaurants and the hotel (5 minute walk along the beach), there is a great snorkeling spot past the rocks, very cool! We had a rental car so we also drove (about 15 min) to Smith Bay. This beach is pure heaven! It seems to be mainly visited by locals and is not crowded with perfect white sand and beautiful calm blue waters. Pool - There are a couple of pools that you can use. We used the one by the beach; it had a tap to wash off the sand as well. The pool was nice and clean and the water was pretty warm. Food - Like I mentioned you have everything you need to prepare your food 'at home' if you are on a budget or have specific dietary needs. There are many supermarkets that deliver or you can shop in a warehouse type place (CostUless) or a supermarket (Pueblo) or some local stands that are all around. There are three popular restaurants directly in the Bolongo Bay area so you don't ever have to leave the area if you choose not to: • Iggys - casual burger type place• Mims - fancier place that serves sea food• Lobster Grill - very fancy There is a lot to do on the island and its neighbors, but we have small kids so we took it easy this time and just enjoy the water. Next time we rent this apartment, we will explore the island.

“Absolute Paradise!!!!” Thanks to Tom we had the perfect getaway!!! Fast booking, we were provided with tons of information before we even left and the deposit returned asap. This condo was in the best place - you were in your own world yet so close to everything. We had privacy, everyone was pleasant and perfect weather. All that was needed was right there. The view was beautiful, the pool 2 minutes away - walking and Sapphire Beach 5 minutes away - walking. And lets not leave out the Off the Grid food truck at the top of the hill. We are early risers so we snorkeled in the morning, walked the beach in the afternoon and made good use of the pool 7am to 10pm with cocktails and appetizers at the Sapphire and Grill. The ferry to St. Thomas is a 5 minute drive too!!! This is the place you want to be and we will definitely be booking this amazing place again. Thanks to you Tom and your condo - you rock!!!!

“An authentic taste of the "American Paradise" with best imaginab” We found the Cariso Suite so perfect for us that we have been there several times over the years. The home is very comfortable, the decor is exceptional with personal artistic touch, and we loved having such a well-equipped kitchen when we wanted to eat-in. Sugar hill is a very short walk to our favorite beaches for swimming, snorkeling and lounging either under bright blue sunny skies or beneath the palms and other natural shade. The private pool on the Sugar Hill estate is also a treat, nestled on the hillside with spectacular sunsets surrounded by diverse tropical landscaping, as well as cozy garden spots that surround the Cariso itself ... especially the hammock under our favorite mahogany tree. The owners offer such attentive warm hospitality, with lots of "insider tips" directed to our own personal interests. They have made discovering the cultural gems of St. Croix, diverse recreational activities, traditional island events, the best restaurants, tourist sights, favorite shopping spots, local specialties, peaceful hide-aways (our first visit was our honeymoon), etc. so much easier and more enjoyable. We have sometimes recommended Sugar Hill's other rental suites to close friends so we could all be on island at the same time and vacation together. You can really get the flavor of island life in the neighborhood and the closeby historic town of Frederiksted is so authentic compared to glitzy, noisy tourist towns we have seen elsewhere. You really feel well taken care of at Sugar Hill by the Sea with such accommodating host and hostess.

“Great time at Bliss” Bliss is not large but perfect for 3 to 4 people. We enjoyed the view of Cruz Bay and the proximity to town. Cynthia has all the necessities in Bliss and it was nice to use the cooler and beach chairs. We rented a jeep from amalie at the airport in St Thomas, I would recommend renting a vehicle, as the walk to town and back is possible, but requires a lot of effort. The beaches around the island are beautiful and it is great to be able to explore. I would recommend going to Chateau Bordeaux for lunch, it has a great view of Coral Bay and wonderful food. “Book This Now!!” This was the most wonderful property for our week in San Juan! Four doors to a beautiful beach - neat and tidy apt with ample linens, utensils, etc - comfortable bed - good water pressure in the shower - cold a/c - consistent wifi service - thoughtful extras like beach chairs and drinking water - very safe location - quiet and friendly neighbors - walkably close to good restaurants for eating out and Walgreens for essentials - close to bus and trolley pick-up points - and the nicest, most helpful hosts we could have asked for! They provided a detailed map for nearby points of interest which was tremendously helpful to us as first-timers. Such a relaxing week with walks among the gated neighborhood streets, freedom to go back and forth to the beach in a quick few minutes and meeting people from all over the world also staying in the area. This is a fabulous location at a super price! We are already scheming how to return to this spot again!!

“Pink Paridise” We absolutely loved our vacation here. The house is beautiful & well equipped. The sunsets are phenominal from the porch! We had 6 adult family members & there was plenty of space for privacy, as well as plenty of room for gatherings for dinners, etc. Frankie is an excellent contact for whatever you might need & is very resposive to your needs. A short walk down the beach delivers you to great beach bars & resturants. The beach is secluded with rarely anyone there. We even had a beach wedding right in front of the house! We highly recommend the "pink house"!!

“Our best vacation yet!” My family is from Puerto Rico, and so is my husband's, so we go to the island often. The last two visits we stayed at the Embassy Suites, but it gets pricy for such a long stay. This year we opted to stay at San Juan Towers and room 663 was amazing! The view from our balcony was the beach and the pool - you can't really ask for more than that. It was great to have a kitchen available, fully equipped, and the front desk, doormen, and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Best part for us was free parking. I will definitely be staying here in the future, and recommend it for anybody making travel plans. Isabel made the process easy and made herself available via email and cell. The reservation deposit was reimbursed immediately upon our return, and I will be sure to rent from her again in the future.

“Excellent Penthouse and Lovely Stay at ESJ Towers” Thanks Isabel for making our stay that wonderful. We had lovely stay and time at ESJ tower PH 1753. Good spacious PH for stay with my wife and kid. “A little gem in a great location” This condo is pretty much exactly as billed. It's small (think large hotel room with a well-appointed kitchen), and very nicely detailed and maintained. The bed is very comfortable, the living area, bath and kitchen all very well designed. The only drawback (which wasn't a big deal for us) is that there is no view. Truly - none. But we spent our days on the beach and about San Juan, so "view" was low on our list. The first floor, close to the building entry is great - quick in and out. Gary was very nice and helpful, too. Even sent us his maps of things to do in the neighborhood. All-in-all, exactly what we'd hoped for.
