Description

Pine Cottage is ideally situated for visiting Alton Towers and the Peak District. It is situated in a peaceful location down a long drive just off the A523. Convenient yet peaceful!PIne Cottage is the largest of our four cottages, sleeping 12. We can also provide a camp bed if required.

Pine Cottage is situated in a picturesque courtyard adjacent to our other three cottages. To the rear of the cottage is a large garden which includes a play area for the children. Our recently acquired trampoline is very popular! There are also picnic tables where parents can sit and relax while the children play. We provide barbeques which can either be used in the garden or courtyard, which is a suntrap during the warmer months.

We now have a hot tub available to hire. What better way to relax and enjoy the beautiful views! Prices start from £70 for 2 nights to £120 for a week. Please enquire for further details.

Children can play with the Broadhurst Bunnies- Hugo, Evie and Hinata, or make friends with our many ponies. We are dog owners ourselves and welcome well behaved dogs at a nominal charge of £20 per dog. We have a field set aside for dog exercise and there are many walks from the doorstep. We can also provide stabling and grazing for guests' horses. There are miles of bridle paths in the area with very little roadwork along quiet lanes.For cyclists we have the Manifold Trail just a mile down the road and the Tissington and High Peak Trails close by. We have a lockable shed for safe bike storage. We are also popular with walkers, having many footpaths on the doorstep

.Pine Cottage provides very spacious accommodation for families or group gatherings. There are four bedrooms: a double downstairs with ensuite, a double upstairs and also a double room with bunks and a twin room with bunks (and ensuite). The dining kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need

.Pine Cottage is one and a half miles from Waterhouses, the nearest village. Waterhouses has a grocers shop selling everything, a pub, café and takeaway. There are several country pubs in the area, serving delicious food and also an Indian restaurant. Leek and Ashbourne have a selection of bars and restaurants if you want to travel a little further for an evening out.For parents who would like a well earned night out without the children, we can provide a baby-sitting service or dog sit for your pet.

“Great place!”

House was nice, clean, great location, set in a farm and had well equipped kitchen. It is spacious but warm and cosy. Big dining table to fit a large group. Owners live close by and are willing to answer any concerns. On the down side there is no wifi and mobile signal which should have been clearly mentioned in the listing although it was a good thing as we could enjoy our time free of distractions. House does need a bit of TLC - like the exhaust fan in hallway bathroom was broken which was a hassle when many people are using the bathroom. Bedding was old looking and mattresses were quite thin. They don’t provide any towels. Overall a great place and we had a lovely time.

“Great Christmas”

Second visit to these lovely cottages family of 11 also with Ted the dog. Very well equipped cottages great scenery and plenty of walks. Grandchildren loved the hot tub. Will be back again soon Angie x

“Much needed Staycation!”

The property is large, spacious and had ample room for our 9 strong group with 4 bedrooms and bed configurations to suit us all. On arriving there were complementary gifts from Linda, tea, coffee and locally produced biscuits, which was very nice of her. Whilst advertised as having wi-fi there is not a constant signal in the cottage and can only get a good link whilst outside the property, this is primarily due to limited provider service so seems little Linda can do about that. The main issue we had was the cleaning regime which I think needs an overhaul. When we arrived the cottage wasn't as clean as we would have liked, dusty shelves, cooker hood, cobwebs on some of the windows and the bedding smelt musty, which we had to rinse through. Once pointed out to Linda, she was pleased for the feedback and had the cleaners lined up, as we left, to give it a full overhaul. The location of the property is great giving quiet, rural times with nice views of the rolling hillside and the animals in the garden. It also provides a central location for long walks, cycling, with bike hire about 10mins walk away and Ilam Park about 10mins drive away. Once over the initial issues, we really enjoyed our stay and the use of the hot-tub was nice after a day of activities.
