Description

This detached cottage is at the north west corner of the Peak District, at the end of a drive on a quiet road. It has recently been fully renovated and provides character accommodation with many period features. You enter the cottage into the fully and well equipped kitchen including a small breakfast table for two. A door leads through to the long lounge, the windows have garden views, the room being split in two by the staircase – at the beginning of the room is the dining / occasional study area. To the far end the lounge is seating in front of the cosy gritstone fireplace with inset log burning stove. There is a sofa suitable for three, one arm chair and a substantial footstool. The stairs lead to the two bedrooms, to your left the second bedroom has two single beds, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. At the other end of the landing the main bedroom has a double bed and a chest of drawers. The good sized bathroom has a roll-top bath with shower over, toilet and hand basin. The secluded garden runs the full length of the property and beyond, and is laid to lawn with a tree back drop. There is a small table and four chairs for outside eating and a wooden bench to seat on whilst enjoying your morning cuppa.

“Carr Cottage”

Absolutely wonderful house in a perfect location. Carr Cottage is a real "home" and I didn't want to leave. Glorious walks around, and my 9 yr old fell in love with the park and skate park. Comfy beds, comfy house, nothing lacking here apart from not enough days in my holiday!

Carr Cottage is a wonderful get-away. It's a home away from home and lovely to get out walking from, or duck into Manchester (though taking the train is far preferably than driving). The cottage is well appointed, secluded and lovely garden for children. We were sad to leave!
