Hale Nai`a unveils breathtaking views and allows you the opportunity to be outside from morning to night. ??If you plan to prepare your meals at home, this is the place for you! You can do so while soaking in the magnificent ocean view in the fully furnished outdoor kitchen with full size fridge, stove, sink, dishwasher, BBQ, coffee pot, microwave and a screened in gazebo for your dining pleasure. In addition, there is also an in...terior, fully equipped kitchen with ocean views, a full size fridge and stove with oven. ??

Let the sound of the ocean waves lull you to sleep in your beautiful one bedroom o’hana with unobstructed ocean views that can accommodate up to 4 guests. There are ceiling fans in every room – even the bathroom. A comfy Cal King bed with memory foam topper awaits you as well as a pillow topper queen size sofa sleeper to accommodate extra guests or family members. Have an afternoon siesta in your hammock.??There is a full 4 piece bath indoors and an added bonus and to truly experience Hawaii there is an additional custom-built outdoor bamboo shower with hot water for your enjoyment.

??Listen to the singing of the many songbirds as you leisurely sip your morning coffee/tea. Watch the dolphins as they swim by. Relax and unwind after a day of rejuvenating solitaire getaway adventure or nuzzle with a loved one watching a breathtaking Hawaiian sunset from your lanai with swaying palm and coconut trees framing your picturesque view. Star-gazing can be spectacular on the clear warm Hawaiian nights or a trip to Mauna Kea’s observatory to marvel at the clear star swept sky is well worth the trip.??

The Kealakekua Bay Wharf is currently closed to commercial activity. No kayaks are allowed. However, you can hike or take a tour boat to the Captain Cook Monument or for the adventurous types it is approximately a one mile swim in one direction.??

Kealakekua Bay (Pathway to the Gods) is located on the Kona Coast, 12 miles South of Kailua-Kona and is only a short walk from your cottage. Manini Beach is truly a hidden gem of a beach a short 250 steps away with picnic tables, a small sand beach with shaded grassy areas. A perfect spot to unwind basking in the sun. If your are fortunate enough, you may have the opportunity to swim with turtles, mantas, spotted eagle rays and enjoy world class snorkeling with beautiful coral reef and an array of colorful tropical fish in an awesome under water protected marine sanctuary. Kealakekua Bay and Captain Cook monument are seen across the bay from Manini Beach where spinner dolphins frequent. This is also the historic bay where Captain Cook first landed in Hawaii in 1778 and the famous site of his Monument.??

Historic Napoopoo Beach Park and Ke’ei Beach (good for surfing) are only minutes away.??The federal park Pu'uhonua O Honaunau, The City of Refuge, is a short drive to the south. There you will find a popular snorkeling spot named “Two Step” which is an easy access area for snorkeling or scuba diving. ?This area also has a public boat launch and a sand beach for the small children to swim in shallow waters. Another 10-minute drive will take you to Ho’okena Beach which is a black sand beach with great views, public facilities, camping, rental equipment and perfect for a picnic.??

The sound of the ocean waves will enchant you. Visiting during the months of November through March is an excellent time for watching humpback whales breech from your lanai. On occasion, you can hear their singing and tail slapping. The Hawaiian spinner dolphins frequent the bay all year and can be seen jumping and “spinning” in the pristine blue waters.

  This place transported me to a dream world! The cottage is comfortable with the king sized luxury bed, but the real highlight is the combination of indoor and outdoor living quarters. I loved the outdoor shower and the outdoor kitchen. Every morning after coming back from a long swim, I looked forward to sinking into one of the chairs or the hammock with a cold drink for a little relaxing. One night I even slept outside under the stars and woke in the early morning to the sound of whales! Hawaii doesn't get any more authentic.
  
  The location of the cottage is perfect. I could see and hear the water from wherever I was inside or outside. Also, the beach is just a short stroll away. Snorkeling at the beach is phenomenal! The coral provides a home for all sorts of colourful fish who swim around munching away. There are a couple spots where the coral has formed a natural arch which is a great place to explore life underwater. One morning while swimming, a manta ray joined me and another morning I was lucky enough to be in the bay when a few pods of dolphins came in. It was truly magical!
  
  It is easy to tell that the owners take pride in this property and want to make sure you have a great visit. Looking forward to my next visit to the Dolphin House! Thanks Janice and Rusty for a very relaxing and truly magical visit to Hawaii!

  The Real Hawaii - Magical

  My husband, two year old daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this cottage for a few days in February. The cottage is amazing and fully equipped. The outdoor kitchen made us feel like we were on a cooking show on The Food Network. It was stocked right down to pink Himalayan sea salt. The master bed is very comfy - resort quality sheets and linens. There is an outdoor shower which is lovely for rinsing off after the beach and an indoor bath for relaxing. The beach itself was very close - my two year old could walk there - maybe 200 ft or so. The beach has a sandy area, a grassy park and a small sandy entrance way between lava rocks to swim out to excellent snorkeling. While out swimming my husband saw pods of dolphins which frequent this bay. We also heard whales in the early morning hours. Rusty and Janice were excellent hosts and introduced us to some friends and locals, giving us a feel for the real Hawaii. Rusty gave a demonstration of opening up a coconut with a machete which was a big hit with my daughter. All in all a magical place to stay, we were just sorry we hadn't planned a longer visit.

  What a total dream this place is.. the owners are so wonderful and have thought of everything. the outdoor kitchen and living room and shower make the experience everything you hope for in a vacation rental!
