      Très belle maison

Left on 05/20/2013 for a stay in April 2013

      Relaxing tropical country experience.

Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We just spent 10 fun filled days at Kona Leilani with our 4 grandchildren and their parents. The house and setting was perfect for an extended family. Michele was wonderful to work with when I made arrangements and provided valuable information to make our visit more comfortable. She was also readily available during our stay and follow-up. Kona Leilani is a beautiful home, well maintained and decorated with original art work. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was available. We loved the view, gardens, porches and comfort and the kids loved the geckos, internet and TV. We loved the two levels of porches for outdoor living... and the view is great! The tropical garden was refreshing and provided lots of entertainment with geckos and birds. Kona Leilani is in a country setting so travel is required for most activities. Pebble Beach at the bottom of the hill was beautiful but too rough for swimming or snorkeling when we were there. The only negative was a rooster that was the proverbial "early bird".

Welcome in paradise - it feels like home!

Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We spent one week in this beautiful vacation home and felt perfectly at home. Michele and Ron provided us with helpful lists, tips and photos beforehand, so that we were well informed when we arrived. Check-in was easy and done by ourselves. The house is located at a steep road, surrounded by a wonderful tropical garden and had a breathtaking view to the ocean. We loved to sit on the great lanai for breakfast or dinner, enjoying the view and the colorful funny geckos and birds around. The house is well equipped and beautiful decorated, very cozy and we felt comfortable and utterly welcome. Good shopping facilities for daily supplies within 20-30 minutes drive. Attractions such as Volcano NP, Black Sand Beach or the nice sandy beaches in the northwest require one to two hours drive, but are absolutely worth the effort. The lava tour with Chris arruda (2,5 hours drive in the night, started at 3.15 am at the end of highway 130) was our highlight - strenuous but a once in a liftime experience. Mahalo Larry (the housekeeper's husband) for helping us with our car on Easter Sunday morning, when the motor decided not to start on our way to the airport. We were on time due to your help! It was hard to leave and only the prospect to a week on Maui eased the farewell to that home in paradise. Mahalo Michelle and Ron for sharing it with us!

We loved our stay at this quiet, out of the way location offering a large and well appointed house w/ohana. We don't enjoy the condo/hotel experience and appreciated being able to have lots of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy relaxing mornings and evenings together after a day of sightseeing.

      Perfect spot

Left on 10/12/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We spent five nights at Kona Leilani and it was really lovely - the wraparound lanai has one of the best coastal and ocean sunset views imaginable. The house was extremely comfortable and clean, with every amenity you could need. It's got a great layout for two to six people (three couples) easily and has a good feeling of privacy from the neighbors. The walk from the driveway to the house is through a small enchanting garden that is calming before you even realize what a great house you're about to enter. Larry the caretaker was super helpful (even when we locked ourselves out!) and answered all our questions about the area. We definitely would return here.

      Superb Family Vacation Spot

Left on 09/12/2012 for a stay in September 2012

The whole family stayed at this lovely Kona property. It is spacious, clean and with superb views of the ocean.
The home has everything available and the host left clear instructions for everything. While it is a bit out of town, the ambience is great, surrounded by well kept gardens and it is quiet. All the interesting gardens, volcanos, peaks are only an hour or two away - easy day trips. Several of the best snorkelling beaches are minutes away. We had a very pleasant vacation and can highly recommend this vacation home.

This is a very nice house located less than one hour south of Kona. We had a party of six and were very comfortable in this house for our two week stay. There is the best snorkling and kayaking 10 minutes or less from the house. All of the island exploring is conviently done from this location, Volcano is 1.5hrs away, Hilo is 2hrs and all to see in between. The house is clean, and has all the amenities needed, a home away from home. If we come back to the Island we will absolutely stay here.

      Fantastic vacation home to relax.

Left on 09/03/2012 for a stay in August 2012

      Hi Michele,

You home is just awesome!! I cannot find any other expression. Beds are comfortable, blanket and comforter are perfect for the weather. We were skeptic about not having air conditioner and was prepared for the hot climate in Hawaii; however the cool breeze throughout the day (rather chilly at early morning hours) kept us very comfortable. We spent most comfortable and relaxing time enjoying your spectacular ocean view, wonderful garden and the view of Mauna Kea during morning hours. Gekkos greeting us every morning was a pleasant surprise.

Our friends from Japan expressed the place couldn`t have been any better. They never expected to stay in a home like this, noting this vacation was the most luxurious time ever spent. We will definitely rent this home again when we come back.

Kona Leilani on the Big Island...

Left on 07/27/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Our stay at Kona Leilani was absolutely fabulous! The house is wonderfully set-up with an 'ohana downstairs and the main, 2-bedroom house upstairs. The house is clean, well-furnished with nice, comfortable beds, bedding & furnishings. It is also very centrally located if you want to explore all the island has, from the Volcanoes in the south to Kailua-Kona and the Kohala Coast to the north. We loved watching the sunset every night as we ate dinner on the lanai. We will definitely return to stay at Kone Leilani...!

Left on 07/14/2012 for a stay in June 2012

My family and I recently enjoyed an amazing 5 day vacation in this beautiful house. The house is spacious and stocked with almost everything that you might need. It is apparent that the owners thought of the samllest details to enusre their guests' comfort. Michele had even provided a list of groceries that we might need when we arrived at the house, along with information about where to shop, where to eat and local attractions. Our favorite spot in the house was, of course, the lanai. We enjoyed some beautiful sunrise and sunsets there. The location is very convenient - not too far from any of the main attractions such as Kailua Kona, Volcano National Park, all the different beaches. We loved driving through the beautiful countryside and exploring some of the coffee plantations, restaurants, fruit stands, curio shops along the way. Thank you for one of the best vacations we have had in a long time!

Wow! This beautiful home was very cool - with everything to make your stay comfortable and then some...cool breezes, botanical garden, special artwork, loads of geckos to keep the kids busy, etc. Michele and Ron were great - and their home is definitely one we would stay in again. From the central location we were able to do several great day trips. The downstairs level was great for my two older kids - who enjoyed some space of their own. Be sure to check in before dark and the community sign is not lit and was a bit hard to find. What an adventure!

Left on 06/17/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Excellent setup for groups in this two-level house. Separate entrances for each floor create the perfect arrangement for inlaws, families with teens, or just friends wanting separate acommodations while still enjoying together time. Owners have thought of everything: lovely decor, plenty of beach toys, comfie beds, fluffy towels, two kitchens, on-site laundry room with soap, dryer sheets. There are huge decks with breathtaking views on each level, outdoor furniture and dining setups, a gas grill, a total of three bathrooms, three bedrooms, plus an outdoor shower. The spectacular garden is a hidden gem (you won't find anything on the island like this for twice the price). And no roaches - trust me, many rentals on the island deal with this issue - no matter how nice the exterior might look. Hint for the steep, circular driveway: back in instead of driving in front-first. You'll have a much easier time of getting out. If you want something a bit more uscale, quiet, fabulously equipped, with easy access to everything, this is it! Bonus: super friendly, helpful and kind owners. A must-do!

Classy, affordable perfection for a couple or a group.

Left on 04/27/2012 for a stay in December 2011

The two of us could not believe how blessed we were to find this gem of a vacation house after many visits to Kona. When you walk in the colors and warmth overtake you. Not one comfort has been left out, the owners have gone overboard to provide the best experience possible. Super clean, modern, fresh luxury with a local property assistant nearby! The lush, peaceful grounds and view make it impossible not to relax. At the bottom of the road is a nearly always empty gorgeous black sand beach with incredible kayaking and snorkeling. There is so much to do around this area that time really flies! After having been there done that with hotels, it was wonderful to be close enough to the action, yet have this kind of privacy. The icing on the cake is the sweetest owners, who adore this home and take great pride in sharing their love of the Big Island. It was the perfect place for us. We are coming back in 2012 with family to celebrate a birthday. Eager to share dinners on the Lanai watching the sunset color the sky to match the amazing paintings in the house.

      Unforgettable vacations

Left on 04/23/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We were a group of 6 adults (2 couples and 2 singles) in vacation for 2 weeks in Hawaii. The house is perfectly convenient for three couples, using the lower floor loft. The spacious loft is equipped with a refrigerator and has a small kitchen but there is no cooking surface or oven. The upper floor is spacious, luxurious and very well equipped. It had a BBQ on the terrace that looked new but needed adjustment (maybe, we missed something... owner was advised). We appreciated extras such as the boogie boards, fins and snorkel gear. The house is ideally located on the island, facing the sea on the western side, just south of our "coup de coeur" site of Honaunau bay with its snorkel site and the very attractive national historical Polynesian site. At an ideal distance from Kona city activities and outdoor wonder of the Volcano area (try a bicycle visit, plan a night guided tour to active lava site and end the day at the Volcano's Kiawe Kitchen), we travelled easily from Waipio Valley to Kealakekua bay and the base of the Mauna Kea. We found everything we needed at the Choice Mart of Captain Cook and spent most evening eating comfortably on the large and very well equipped terrace of the house, facing the sunset. Have a stop at the terraces of the Coffee Shack (1.5mi south of Capt Cook) and the South Kona Fruit Stand (0.3mi south of jct to 160W). We recommend this site without restriction for small groups !

This home is everything described and more! The location is well situated between Kailua-Kona, Kealakekua Bay, coffee plantations to the north and Volcano National Park and Green Sands Beach (to the south.) The owners are very helpful and send out lots of information before you get there to help you plan for your trip. We loved the large lanai, the surrounding palm and plumeria trees and the fantastic ocean views. It is really peaceful and tropical. The owners have pride of ownership and have decorated the home beautifully; there are new appliances and furnishings and there is a barbeque on the lanai for cooking every dinner so you can relax on the lanai during sunset. Beautiful home and great service; we would recommend this home to our friends for sure!
