Casale Mare Monte is situated in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Balestrate with a view of the sea. If peace and quiet is what you seek, this is the place for you. The house is surrounded by a garden with young olive trees. The property is closed by a gate. The house is working by solar energy. The aircondition and heating is very silent. The house is prepared for summer and winter!
The nearest beach is only 500m away and shops and restaurants only about 800m.
You don't need a car. You can visit many places by bus or train.

“We had a great time!”
We had a great time. The house is very nice, with an amazing view at the ocean. Also very suitable for people with small children. Balestrate is a nice town with very kind people.

“Great location for exploring western part of Sicily and GREAT value.”
Balestrate is in a great location for trips all over Sicily. We even reached Agrigento in 2 hours. The house is nicely taken care of and Mr. Mazzola is very attentive and helpful. The only mix-up for us was that we had been assured that there would be central heating - important for a January visit. Instead we had a single, gas-fire portable heater, scary with four children (open flame) and simply inadequate for heating a 3-bedroom apartment. As a result, our stay was very cold and damp. In another season, this would not be an issue. The house is on a windy street, up a hill and you do need a car to go anywhere but parking is easy. The beach in Balestrate is very nice (yes, even in January!). The house is sparely furnished, but adequate. There are some homey decorative touches. There is a fenced-in yard, which we thought we'd make more use of, but we were on the move. The owner provided beach toys and even brought a juicer when I asked (fresh oranges - highlight of winter fruit!) There is a washer and you dry on the clothes rack (impossible for us, with no heat or much sun - but there is a laundromat in town). Overall, this is a basic but adequate place and is GREAT value for the money.
