“A great way to see Woodstock!” We got married in Woodstock in September of 2012 and decided to take a trip back to explore without the pressure of planning or having a wedding. We normally stayed at the Woodstock Inn, but no longer. The apartment exceeded our expectations - it was spacious, private and full of all the amenities you'd have at your home. Close to everything and walkable to downtown, owners who are personable and knowledgeable of the area you can't find a better place to launch your exploration of Woodstock!

“First Family Ski Trip with the Kids” I have a 4 year old and an 11 month old and neither my wife nor I had been skiing since both kids were born. Our eldest was ready for his first skiing vacation and Killington was a great spot since they have a great ski school and child care for the little one. We booked somewhat late but had another couple that wanted to bring their 4 year old daughter as well, so we found this awesome rental. Unfortunately we didn't really get to use the ski on/off to its fullest potential since we had to drop the kids off at their base each day but it would have been extremely convenient. The condo was the perfect size, wifi was key along with the other amenities. The clubhouse was close and convenient, awesome to be able to take the kids to the pool after a day on the slopes and sit myself in the hot tub while they played. I will definitely be coming back here!

“Ski home at Killington” We've been here for 10 days in late January. Wonderful place. Excellent home. We were two families with 4 aDT, CHD 4 with 6.9, 11 and 14 years. We left and came back home from skiing. We used the heated pool at the sport center. the hot tub ... We skate on the frozen pond. Although we are not accustomed to the cold (-13 F/ -25 C) for being Brazilians, we enjoyed a lot. Thank you!

Colonial-style solid-timber home in a quiet setting; sanctuary.
a secluded, private home

We stayed the last few days of October and the first few days of November. We wish we had stayed a week or so earlier, because many places closed on October 31st. However, the places we did visit were very enjoyable. The cabin was fairly secluded and private. It had wonderful wood and gas burners that were cozy. It did have a DVD player, however, it was not in the common area but in one of the bedrooms. We had planned on a movie night with the family and it was a little awkward overtaking someone's bedroom. The variety of board games were nice and the family particularly enjoyed the Magnificent Race. Despite the rain, we did get in a walk on one of the paths one afternoon. When we booked through FlipKey, we booked for my spouse and I, our two children and our two shih tzus. However, I'm assuming something didn't translate in FlipKey, because when we got there, there was a "seven sacred pet rules" list we were unaware of. Heidi seems very organized, so I'm assuming that if she had known we were bringing pets, she would have given us this list ahead of time. Despite the fact that we could and did follow the rules, we probably would not have booked this location because with this list we felt as if pets were more tolerated than welcomed and we were constantly on alert to make sure our pets didn't decide to jump on a chair throughout our visit. As I said, Heidi seems very organized and had a book filled with instructions and rules that were left for us upon our arrival. I'm sure the book was the result of past issues Heidi may have had with renters. However, between the book with the rules (including the notation on how pictures were taken before each rental to document any damage) and all the personal effects of Heidi's family that were throughout the cabin, we felt like we were violating someone's personal space and home and it made it difficult for us to relax and made us slightly paranoid. We actually spent the first part of our first evening there, photographing and documenting any pre-existing damage we found in the house so that we could prove our innocence if it came to it at a later date. We've rented homes many times, and we've never felt so awkward before. From the little interaction that we had with Heidi through messages, I don't believe any of this was intentional. Heidi seems to be very welcoming. She stopped by before we arrived to make sure the cabin was warm and cozy and we greatly appreciated it. I believe she is just very organized, has probably been bitten by bad experiences in the past, and this is just her way of protecting herself and her property. It just made us uncomfortable. We are used to renting homes through businesses, and are more used to homes that, while decorated nicely and are clean, are more impersonal and can be made to feel more like they are "ours" while we are there. We have always believed in letting a place better than what it was when we got there, so usually the rules are just standard things we would do anyway. However, the extra rules (such as running the vent when showering to prevent wallpaper from bubbling, the warning not to accidentally put out the pilot lights in the gas burners or you will pay a fee to get them re-lit, the instructions as to which wood pile must be used, the directions to limit use of water bottles, etc.) just seemed exhausting to read and remember after a long trip. We were tired, burnt out, and mentally exhausted and had looked forward to a week of mentally checking out and relaxing and this just didn't get us off to a great start. If you enjoy B&Bs, or enjoy staying in others homes or swapping houses, this would definitely be a place for you to stay. It was a lovely home that was decorated beautifully, was private, secluded and warm and cozy. I feel horrible for even mentioning our discomfort. For the average person who wants a place to crash at night, it would be great. It just wasn't our cup of tea.see more
