“One for the books!” Located on the Denby's working farm,I cannot state too many positive accolades about Pear Tree Cottages. In Cider apple, I placed 4 university-aged students at this cottages, with constant visits from 6 more who were placed elsewhere, for 24 days. It was the perfect accommodation. The bedrooms are sizable as well as comfortable. The kitchen/dining and living area are as well. We cooked many meals for 12 and had plenty of dishes, glassware, and cooking implements to make great food. The patio in the back is a wonderful extension to the living space. With a table/umbrella and chairs surrounded by plantings and the sounds of the English countryside, this proved to be a perfect place for all of us to eat, hang out, or have meetings. The cottage is just 1 1/2 miles from the beautiful village of Wedmore. There are wonderful pubs, restaurants and shopping opportunities in Wedmore as well as many other places nearby. You can easily get to Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Burnham-on-Sea, and of course, Glastonbury within a half-hour drive. Then, you get to come home to a warm fire and the quiet of rural life. The service that the Denbys offer is impeccable. Comfy bedding and towels are just the tip of the iceberg. I highly recommend this cottage!

“Delightful surroundings, genial hosts” Although not my first stay in Wedmore, this month-long sojourn in Cherry Plum Cottage was the first time at Pear Tree Farm. The Denbees are gracious hosts, helpful with suggestions about the area, friendly but not intrusive, generous with their time for questions from city-dwelling american university students, & patient when (a few) problems arose. The cottage is quite modern & comfortable with all the conveniences one needs in a self-catering site, including roomy walk-in shower, dish & clothes washers, & easy recycling & composting disposals. Set on a working farm 1 1/2 miles from Wedmore & approximately 15 miles to either Glastonbury or Wells, it is convenient to major thoroughfares for excursions or to country lanes to wander aimlessly through beautiful farmland. The cottage comes with the expected daytime noises, scents & machinery of its surroundings & with soft, quiet nights that can be satisfyingly spent grilling on the patio or playing games, watching TV or Dvd's by the wood burner. Definitely would stay here again when in the area.

Pet friendly Clares Holiday Cottage with stunning views & green credentials
Chepstow cottage
- 2 bedrooms

“Great holiday in a fantastic cottage” Clare's cottage is just simply fantastic. We had a very warm welcome from Helen the owner when we arrived. Who gave us some great advice on the best walks nearby and details of all the local amenities. The cottage itself is very cosy and comfortable with everything you could ever need and more! The wood burning stove is great if you just want a nice chillout after a long day walking. The location is very good too as all the local amenities are only 3 miles away in Chepstow, which is a nice little town, and which also has the castle and museum for you too take a look at. There are also some othergreat places to visit nearby the cottage you can find details of them in the excellent welcome pack in the cottage. The garden is lovely, and dog safe. If you are looking for a great place to stay in South Wales we really do recommend Clare's cottage. We can't wait to come back again at some point in 2014.

“Peaceful, rustic charm with luxury” Wonderfully situated cottage with views of Tintern abbey. An excellent base to explore the Wye Valley, and the added attraction of pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. The cottage itself has everything you would need, and is tastefully decorated. Luxurious and comfortable bedding. Comfy sofas in living room and attractive dining room. Kitchen well equipped though we did have a few problems working out the oven (having accidentally switched it off, which we had been warned not to do, so our fault). The woodburning stove a real focal point and welcomed in the wild February weather! It was a bit of a pain having to remember (in our case write down) a code to open the door instead of having a key, especially in the pouring rain, but I suppose it is easier to manage than keys. My only suggestion would be having a small porch outside that door for weather protection as it is not pleasant punching in numbers to open a door with rain pouring on you. But I am perhaps being a bit picky and overall the experience was excellent, and we would definitely book again. Must also note charming and helpful owners, Malcolm and Fiona.

“Very nice indeed” Had a lovely time at this cottage. Hot tub was of course as amazing as you would expect! Owners were friendly and helpful. Garden was very secure for the dogs. Location was excellent and whilst there were neighbours we rarely saw anyone - which we liked. We were surprised to get home from an outing once to find the owner inside the property carrying out maintenence without telling us and he also turned up un-announced twice, which we werent really keen for. Was generally tidy and the little extra's were very nice. The vodka was lovely! Thanks. Would recommend to others but would not return.
