“Large, affordable, walking distance to down town & beach” Being 6 blocks from the beach/down town/Tubb's hill did not take away from the fun! the house is very large w/beds up/down and lots of living space on the main (great kitchen). Great office area for those needing to a little work (stable/fast internet). Be aware there is no bathroom or bedrooms on the main floor - and the house is on a busier one way street (it was not too noisy - but kids could not play out front). Great kitchen with high-end everything. The owners were great to deal with - especially when my damage deposit refund was delayed. Thank you to the owners for letting us enjoy their home!

About Coeur d’Alene

Coeur d'Alene was named by French-speaking trappers. They seemed to believe that the Native Americans in the area were sharp traders, so they named Lake Coeur d'Alene, which means "hearts sharp as an awl."

Those same Native Americans set up permanent sites on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene, and you can visit museums to find out about their history.

Fort Coeur d’Alene was built on the lake shore in the 1870s. For years, it acted as the railroad/steamboat transfer point for materials from the mines in Silver Valley to smelters in the eastern states. The town began to grow quickly in the 20th century, when local timber became a popular commodity.

Whatever you want from a vacation, you can have it in Coeur d'Alene. There's even a Greek restaurant or two if you want to be a little adventurous! Make Coeur d'Alene your next vacation spot, and you’ll have the trip of a lifetime.

For a slightly unusual activity, take a trip around Coeur d'Alene in a seaplane. Or, for something a bit more relaxed, try a lake cruise.

History buffs, the Museum of North Idaho (in front of city park in Coeur d'Alene) is the place to be! You'll find out everything you need to know (and more!) about the area's history.

Cycle along the North Idaho Centennial Trail, which runs along the Spokane River and Lake Coeur d'Alene. It's one of the best ways to see the area.

If you like fishing, but are an amateur, why not take fly fishing lessons from a professional? Alternatively, you can go on one of the guided fishing trips on offer. See what you can catch during your stay!
