“Slice of heaven” I lost my husband of 34 years in 2005 and simply didn't want to return to the mountains until my dear friends convinced me it would do me good to go with them for a relaxing week-end at the Nelson's " retreat in the sky. I'm so thankful I went because we all had such a wonderful time. The home was impeccably decorated and had every amenity you could possibly ask for. The views were breathtaking particularly from the deck. The home sits on top of the mountain so it was as though we could just reach up and touch the clouds! Our days were spent exploring the many shops in Bryson City or nearby towns and our evenings were filled with laughter just relaxing in the jacuzi, playing card games & sharing life's stories. We are presently working out details for our next "Golden" getaway this summer at the Nelson's Retreat and we can't wait!

“Convenient location & responsive owners” The rental was in a delightful, quiet neighborhood & convenient to Parkway, shops & downtown Asheville. The owners were easy to work with & very responsive. Some of the furniture was worn & the landscaping not well maintained. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed the large, screened patio & numerous shade trees keeping it comfortably cool.

“Highly recommended” Beautiful location, and the house was very clean & cozy. House has everything you need to make it feel like you are at home. Beautiful scenery form the back and front decks, and our kids enjoyed kayaking in the canal. We would highly recommend it to anyone.

“A great way to experience New Orleans!” The Love Shack lives up to its name as I fell in love with the property, the hospitality, and New Orleans. I've never rented a property online but the owner put me at ease by taking the time to talk to me over the phone. I had never been to NOLA and it was my birthday. The owner made my stay very special having birthday decorations up when I arrived! The owner also made sure I knew where to go and what to do during my stay. The property was very clean with all the amenities you would expect... When I come back to New Orleans I definitely plan to stay at the love shack again.

“A Magnificent stay in the Great Smokey Mountains!!” We had a lovely time visiting your cabin! The panoramic views were breathtaking!! There were many options for us to relax. Indoors and out there were comfortable sitting areas. A large and well equipped kitchen, and dining area for entertaining. Outdoors we enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, breathtaking views and starry nights. Your home was beautifully decorated and the beds were very cozy. We were happily secluded but just a drive down the mountain to town if needed. Thank you for sharing you beautiful mountain home with us!! Looking forward to another stay at your Water Rock Retreat!!

“Great” Location is great. It put us in the middle of every where we wanted to go..We spent time in both states...Beach area at park was best I'D ever been at.Peachy keen was perfect...Had Evert thing we needed or wanted...Oh, one thing missing, A pot big enough for the crab legs we bought to cook that night. Dinner ended up great and enjoyed eating them on our screened in porch watching it rain...We loved it.

“A wonderful house in a wonderful setting” My wife and I so enjoyed our time in the Stones' house on a lake. It is beautiful with all the needs any visitor could want. I enjoyed boating on the lake, seeing eagles and other creatures. The folk we encountered in the area were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the local church. “Excellent place to stay” We had an absolutely fantastic time at The Purple Parrot. We came for a week to visit our son at NaS. The location was 10 minutes from the back gate making visitation easy. We were also close to Johnson Beach and a short drive to Pensacola Beach. One of our nicest surprises was how close we were to the Gulf Shores and all of the activities there. We found the Gulf shores much nicer than Pensacola Beach itself. The Purple Parrot had everything we wanted and more. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were fantastic and the hours of operation were great. We did a late check in with no problem and check out was so easy. The staff at The Purple Parrot was always more than willing to help. The staff at Perdido Key Resort Management went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. Our experience with The Purple Parrot and Perdido Key Resort management was one of the best experiences we have ever had. I would highly recommend both of them to anyone.
