Shubert Bungalow

Seal Harbor cottage

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Perfect!” The Shubert Bungalow was such a nice place to stay.It was so clean and there was everything that you neeeded in it.You could relax out on the deck or in the rocking chairs out front. One of the best things was that you could walk right to the carriage roads or walk to Jordan Park for lunch or dinner. It was the best place we ever stayed at.I would definitely go back!

Annie's Outlook at Sunset Cottages

Acadia National Park cottage

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“My home in Maine!” This was our 5th time staying at annie's Outlook and it is about as perfect as you can get. Clean, comfortable, quiet, very well-stocked and an unobstructed ocean & island view beyond words. A gem on the 'quietside', well away from the tourist bustle of Bar Harbor but very convenient to Southwest Harbor's markets and restaurants (which are way better than what you will find in BH). Access to aNP is a short drive away. And after a day of hiking, kayaking or whatever, you can come back to annie's and just relax on the deck or sit down by the shore and watch the lobster boats and maybe catch glimpse of an eagle or porpoise. And on a clear night, it's like being in a planetarium. Trust me; it's perfect.

Cedarledge Cottage at Seaside Cottages, waterfront, Acadia - "quiet" side of MDI

Southwest Harbor cottage

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Perfect!” My mother and I recently rented this darling 2-bedroom cottage for our girls' trip to Mount Desert Island, Maine. It was exactly what we were looking for! Quiet, semi-private, on a peaceful, secluded granite ledge overlooking gorgeous water. Very comfortable, fantastic views, and well-appointed on the inside (it had everything we needed, including a spacious bathroom and all the kitchen gear we could desire). We loved the brief walk down the path to the beach and spent hours enjoying the water and the view while exploring the shore or sitting on the granite ledge. (We saw seals and a sea otter!) Kathy was very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had (which were minimal/normal). Cedarledge Cottage was also a great center of operations for us on the quiet side of the island, away from tourist bustle, while we explored the surrounding areas during the day -- a quick and easy drive to the best spots in acadia National Park, including things like Cadillac Mountain and Schoodic Peninsula. And our favorite lobster pound, Thurston's, less than 10 minutes away. All in all, we loved this cottage and look forward to returning. Thank you, Kathy and Jay!

Seaside Cottage, 3 BRs, Private Beach, Great Views

Southwest Harbor cottage

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“Best Vacation ever! Five Glowing Stars!” For our 40th anniversary we decided to take our 2 daughters & their families to acadia. After looking at dozens of homes, I discovered this one that sounded perfect. We were surprised at how spacious, open, and airy it was inside. The house was lovely, clean & comfortable with much thought put into details. We mostly ate in, rather that take the littles out to dinner; the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of room to work. We also used the gas grill. We left the cottage before 9 each morning, and drove to our daily destinations: Swimming at Echo Lake. Bike Riding around Witch Hole Pond and Eagle Lake. Picking Blueberries. Driving Park Loop Road & up Cadillac Mt. Bar Harbor with a walk to Bar Island at low tide. Walked the Shore Walk. Spent an am in Northeast Harbor & Thuya Gardens and an am in Southwest Harbor where we got fresh blueberry pie at the Quietside Cafe. We would then come back mid afternoon to put the littles in for naps. This was the time we adults could rest, read on the screened in porch, walk along the beach, or ride bike locally. The Cove is beautiful, and ever changing. Beachcombing was a big hit with all of us! After dinner in the evening, we went to places close by: Wonderland Trail, Twice to the Bass Harbor Lighthouse. And even one evening to the local school playground for the kids. We had the privilige of meeting the owners who were staying near by. One day Peter installed a DVD which we used in the evenings. Another time a screen blew off & he immediately replaced it. Coming from hot, muggy pa in august, we weren't sure about not having aC. We never needed it. There is always a wonderful breeze coming off the cove, the house was always cool & some nights actually got cold and we had to close windows. From the quiet, peaceful mornings, to the dazzling sunsets...and everything in between, Acadia & this cottage are truly magical! We would recommend this property to anyone & we hope to come back again some day.

Pinelodge Cottage, "Quiet side" of Mt. Desert Island, Acadia Park, waterfront

Mount Desert cottage

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Everything we were hoping it would be!!!” We so enjoyed our stay at Pinelodge Cottage! The cottage is cozy, warm, and well-appointed and decorated. It is a great place to regroup after a day of adventure. Wi-fi is available, which is good because at&T; is the only service available this close to the Ocean. Gott's Grocery Store is about 10 minutes away, and there is a post office at Bernard, only 7 minutes away. We were 30 to 45 minutes from other harbors and activities. Bass Harbor is only 10 minutes away, and great eating at Ketch! This home has 2 bedrooms, one with a comfy double bed, and one with two twin beds, equally comfy. Linens can be supplied for a price, and we recommend this option as to bringing in your own. The deck has a grill and charcoal available. The kitchen has a coffee maker and we enjoyed our first cup every morning looking out the sliding glass doors to the ocean view. Adventuresome people can trek down the path, over the rocky boulders and along the shore during low tide. Tidal pools are fun to explore and sea shells can be gathered. It is a climb to get back up to the yard! I am disabled, and used a rollator/walker. I had no problem from the drive way up the two steps to enter the cottage from side deck. The indoor floors are wooden, with an indoor-outdoor carpet in both bedrooms. The bathroom is tile, with a shower. I brought my own shower stool. This house is not wheelchair friendly, however I found it quite wonderful for my needs. We recommend arriving to this resort in the daylight. It is very dark at night, and we appreciate Kathy's patience in coaxing us as we inched along in pure dark to find our way rather late when we arrived.

Haiku House - your gateway to Acadia

Acadia National Park cottage

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“Nice cottage within walking distance of the beach and Acadia park” We enjoyed our stay in this 2-floor cottage which is nice, clean and fully functional, including a good wireless internet. The cottage is being extended but there was plenty of room as it was for our family of 5. Good tips from the owners on what to do / where to go during your stay. Walking distance to the Seals Bay beach and the Jordan Pond in the Acadia Park; 10 miles to the main local village of Bar Harbor with bustling shops / restaurants / coffee houses etc. Acadia itself is an amazing piece of (practically) untouched nature with both mild and tough walking trails opening up some breath-taking views.

“Fantastic Family Vacation” Our family of 10 celebrated 3 birthdays and our 50th wedding anniversary here from July 3 to July 11, 2015. We could not have found a better place. We rented the "Pavillion" which was perfect for our group. It was clean, well decorated, comfortable beds. and the kitchen was stocked with all the dishware, silverware, pots and pans, and everything needed if we had wanted to cook "in" all the time. ( we chose to eat out except for breakfasts). The "Pavillion" is the largest of a number of units on a pretty complex with a nice pond, fire pits, good landscaping, parking, washer/dryer, etc and ideally located in short walking distance to the shops, market, and restaurants and the best ice cream of Southwest Harbor. It is very quiet and the owners parents ( delightful) live in one of the units on the property. The owner, Marc Chalfoun was extremely cordial and helpful in recommending activities and restaurants for our special occasions. He also responded immediately with extra towels we requested one time and he allowed us to check in a day ahead of our reserved week which was a huge advantage for us. We felt the rate was very reasonable considering the size of the unit, the 4th of July week at the peak of their tourist season, closeness to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and activities that entertained 6 adults and 4 grand children from 3 to 13. WE WOULD ALWAYS STAY HERE IF VISITING THIS BEAUTIFUL AREA OF MAINE. Chuck Raches, Bozeman, MT
