Yaak Valley Log Cabins

Troy log cabin

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Amazingly awesome” If you want the fly fishing trip to remember, make arrangements with Linehan Outfitters and head for Troy Montana. You will have a trip to remember. The cabins are well and appropriately appointed, clean, and comfortable. Cooking was not a problem as the kitchen is well appointed and there was a gas grill on the deck. The quiet tranquility is beyond belief. The setting was all one could ask for with song birds to wake you every morning. The owners are professional and friendly and make every effort to make sure your stay is pleasurable. I would recommend a Yaak Valley trip to anyone who appreciates this area of the country. You don't have to be an angler to enjoy this part of the world. The fishing was great and the guides, Tim and Shawn were the best! Joanne's sandwiches alone are worth the trip.

Kootenai River House

Libby house

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Comfortable and fully-equipped riverfront home” Our group of four has been renting the River House for the last several years and we always look forward to returning. The house is well-constructed and spacious and contains all of the amenities you will have in your own home. The bedrooms are spacious and nicely appointed and the kitchen and living room are roomy and fully-equipped. The bathrooms are modern and clean and are cleaned daily. The house is located on 10 acres of property fronting on the Kootenai River, with extensive, well-groomed lawn areas. and views of the Cabinet Mountains. We requested the full service meal package, which adds gourmet dinners prepared by Joanne Linehan. If she is not the best cook in Montana, she is among the best and this option is highly recommended and a perfect complement to a delightful place to stay. Joanne is also a very pleasant and knowledgeable person who can help with any desired arrangements for fishing, hunting, hiking or other local activities.

Beautiful location, Quiet & Comfortable, Excellent Hosts

I have used this rental several times when on business in the Troy / Libby area. The location is beautiful, located in a quiet residential area a stones throw away from the river. Everything I needed was there, it was well furnished. The owners are on site and made us feel very comfortable. They were there with suggestions/tips when needed, did not seem put off when I asked for things or locked my keys in the rental and yet gave all the privacy I needed. The rental was very clean and spacious. The full kitchen is great and well equipped. The hosts are very pleasant and I enjoyed visiting with them.see more
Yaak Valley Log Cabins
Fishing the Yak River, the last week in June, 2012

Guided by Tim Linehan, our 5 days on the Yak represented one of the most enjoyable dry fly fishing experiences ever. We had over a couple of hundred hook ups mostly on drys which was really exciting on 2 and 3 wt. rods. Having fished with the Linehans 11 times over the years, this represented the usual fantastic fly fishing experience with exeptional guide expertise and service. We've booked the first week in July 2013 to do the Yak again. Can't wait! The cabin we stayed in was perfect for the two of us, fully equipped and extremely comfortable. It is conveniently close to the river making driving time minimal. If you want to fish the Yak, the Linehan cabins are without question the best place to stay.see more
