Description

Cherry Tree Cottage is a 4 Star Visit England modernised well located cottage, awarded Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for 2021.

It is situated between Bowness and Windermere. It is within easy walking distance of all the bars and restaurants, but it is far enough away from the crowds. The cottage is also very close to many country walks: Orrest Head, Elterwater, The Langdales and The Dales Way. It is a short drive to Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead, Brockhole Visitors Centre and the Langdales. The Beatrix Potter museum in Bowness is a favourite with young children and is only a short walk from the property. Many people also enjoy water sports on Lake Windermere which is also a short walk from the cottage.

The cottage has 4 bedrooms, (1 king size bed, 1 double bed and 2 single beds)and 2 bathrooms, a hallway, a utility room with washing machine and dryer, a modern fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and halogen hob and a dining area for 6 people. There is a

a spacious lounge, with TV and DVD player. WIFI is available at the property and is unlimited. There is a lovely private rear garden, garden furniture and private drive for 2 cars. There is also a garage at the property which is very useful for storing bicycles or kayaks.

All bedding and towels are included in the rental. There is also a cot and highchair at the property and a book shelf with many children's and adult fiction books.

Cherry tree cottage is suitable for families, groups and couples. Cherry tree cottage is also suitable for people with mobility difficulties. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor one double and one single a large bathroom, a utility room and a hallway with an understairs cupboard. The kitchen with dining area and living room are on the first floor. On the second floor is a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a single bedroom.

Windermere train station is a short walk from the cottage. All the local buses run every 10 minutes from just outside the property. Therefore, there is no need for a car.

Short breaks of 3 🌙 or more are available in low or mid season or at short notice. There are often offers on the property, so please make an enquiry. The property is cleaned in accordance with Covid 19 guidelines.

I will allow one small, well behaved, house trained dog. Please enquire if you wish to bring a dog. No dogs on beds or furniture.

House rules

The bins are collected every Thursday morning.
My next door neighbour will put the bin out in the street the night before and bring them back in for you. WIFI is available at the property and is unlimited. 4G works well in the area.

I will allow one small well behaved, house trained dog. Please clean up after your dog. Do not allow dogs on the beds or furniture. Dogs not to be left alone in the house.

“Excellent Host with lively Holiday Home”

Val was a wonderful host. We communicated a lot as we modified our trip and Val was kind, patient and very responsive. The flat was clean and well stocked. The main living and kitchen is on the second floor and sleeping rooms and toilets are on the first and third floors, so there are stairs to maneuver regularly in case you have bad knees or hips. It’s within a 10-15 minute walk into town and pubs.

“Family stay in the lakes”

Beautiful location close to all the amenities, Bowness,and Windermere. House was very good,plenty of room but on arrival needed to empty a bin full of tissues in one bedroom,and kitchen bin was very dirty when we lifted bag out ,also kitchen worktops not clean ,furniture in living area need a good clean ,also at to empty the hoover before we used it ,so a little disappointed but after cleaning the house enjoyed are stay .

“Ideal location”

Fantastic, everything spotlessly clean and plenty of room, only 3 of us but with 2 double and two single rooms could easily have been even more value for money if you have a larger family or sharing with friends. Located just about midway between bowness and windimere towns there is ample choice of shops bars restaurants. Property is set over 3 floors with living room and kitchen on the second so probably not best suited if you struggle with stairs. We'll appointed modern kitchen and decent WiFi! Only thing I can think the Property could benefit from would be some outdoor furniture in the garden but otherwise everything we needed.
