Description

Cosy cottage but with lots of living space for a family to spread out. Leather sofas, quality towels and linens and modern appliances in the well stocked kitchen make this a home from home. The highlight however has to be the secluded private garden full of shrubs and flowers with occasional guests the local pheasants and ducks. The cottage is a short stroll to the fells above Lake Windermere and a short drive to Bowness with its many restaurants and other amenities.

The cottage has been furnished and equipped to allow us owners and you our guests to truly relax and enjoy time there. Take a seat on the terrace in summer or by the cosy open fire in winter or sun yourself in the conservatory watching the local pheasants and rabbits.

The cottage sleeps 4-6 in 3 bedrooms and is best suited to a family or small group of friends. Accomodation is in 2 double beds and 1 single room with full sized bunks. A breakfast/kitchen, living room/diner and conservatory overlooking the garden provide generous living space. A modern contemporary bathroom offers bath with shower over.

Parking is available within the grounds for up to 2 cars.

Quality bedding and towels are provided.

The house offers everything you need for a family holiday or for a small group of friends to enjoy everything this exciting area has to offer.

Free WiFi is provided on a reasonable use basis. The flat screen smart TV offers freeview and other apps. DVD player and wireless music player also available. Board games, DVD's and books provided for your use.

Ideal for walkers, an undemanding 30 minute walk takes you to Rossthwaite Heights which is one of Alfred Wainwrights favourite spots and affords a fabulous panoramic view of Lake Windermere. Or why not walk across the fells to the Brown Horse at Winster, enjoy a leisurely lunch and walk back (or get a cab!).There is also easy access to trails for all levels of mountain biking and secure storage for bikes in the lockable garden shed. Bikes can also be hired in Windermere or at the nearby Ferry Nab ferry point. The many restaurants and bars in Bowness can be reached with a 5 minute drive or taxi ride if you prefer. The location offers the peace and tranquility of a country cottage and garden but allows you to embrace the more lively side of this beautiful area if you prefer so in our view offers the best of both worlds.

1. COVID 19, enhanced cleaning protocols adopted. Please assist by stripping all beds and airing house before departure.
2. Cesspit not mains sewerage so 3 Ps in toilet only (pee, poo and paper), bags and bin provided.
3. Guests may smoke in the garden but please remove all debris. Zero tolerance for smoking in the house. If we detect the smell will charge for a deep clean to remove.
4. No exceeding agreed number of guests booked. Max number of guests is 6 including infants.

Response from the owner We quite agree and recommend a car in the listing. Part of the charm of our house is easy access to country walks but these are not suitable for prams. Children who are mobile can enjoy walking in the local woods and on the nearby fells if older. Climbing walls and jumping over streams still delights our youngest! Bowness with its cafe culture, restaurants and shops is only 5 minutes drive.

“Amazing place”

Fantastic house lovely homely feel very very clean and great for families. I was working away and wanted to find somewhere my wife and daughters could feel safe but also go for walks etc. This was it, it was perfect. The open fire sure gave it the cost feel, a great selection of games books and kids toys. The kitchen was brilliant very modern and the cooking equipment is perfect, very good quality. This to me was a massive bonus to be able to cook like we were still at home. Can't fault this place in any way and will look to return with another family for weekend away with friends.
