THE MARKET TOWN OF LEEK WITH QUIRKY SHOPS, MOSTLY INDEPENDENT AND GOOD PUBS AND RESTAURANTS SERVING GREAT FOOD IS LESS THAN QUARTER OF AN HOUR AWAY

YOU WILL BE AMONGST THE STUNNING SCENERY OF THE STAFFORDSHIRE MOORLANDS AREA OF THE PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK, A REAL 'HIDDEN GEM'

DOVEDALE AND THE FAMOUS STEPPING STONES IS ONLY 15 MINUTES DRIVE.

CHATSWORTH, THE PRETTY MARKET TOWN OF BAKEWELL, THE SPA TOWN OF BUXTON WITH THE EXQUISITELY REFURBISHED VICTORIAN CRESCENT AND BEAUTIFUL ELIZABETHAN HADDON HALL ARE ALL ALSO A SHORT DRIVE AWAY.

At Ford Old Hall Barn we strive to exceed your expectations, you will receive great hospitality from us, we don't use a manager so we personally make sure the standards are just right for you.

We do all the cleaning and turnarounds ourselves to make sure our very high standards are maintained, it really does matter to us that you experience the very best at Ford Old Hall Barn.

We will try to accommodate any special requests you may have, we are on hand if you need us but you can be totally private too if that's your preference.

Relax as soon as you walk through the door as your meal with wine will be waiting and the table set so no need for you to start cooking or looking for somewhere to eat when you arrive, what more could you ask for!

There's a breakfast basket prepared with croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin, cereals, a home baked loaf, yogurt, granola, juice, butter, milk, eggs, preserves, coffee, tea, sugar - enough for your stay, so if you don't want to, you don't even have to think about shopping for other food until you have settled in.

You won't need to bring anything with you apart from your luggage and your own choice of personal toiletries.

The barn is fully equipped, a true 'home from home', soft white fluffy towels, white luxurious cotton bedding, summer & winter duvets, 'heavenly' mattress toppers for that extra comfy night's sleep and your personal choice of pillows.

Additional large bath towels and white waffle robes are there for you to use with the hot tub or just to feel completely relaxed in and around the barn.

Dishwasher detergents, soap powder and conditioner plus many kitchen basics are also provided.

A basket of logs is ready for you to create a cosy atmosphere with the Scandinavian log burner.

Explore the beautiful Peak National Park on foot, there are walks right from the door. We have access to 4 excellent, flat, converted railway tracks which are great for either walking or cycling.

If you see 10 cars a day in Ford it will be considered 'busy'! You are more likely to encounter the odd tractor or two.

Further details indoors

The barn is immaculately converted with an 'upside down' living arrangement, with stone floors downstairs & solid oak floors upstairs, both with underfloor heating provided by our eco friendly heat pump which provides constant hot water too.

A very sociable open plan living/dining/kitchen space upstairs which has a high ceiling & beams.

The Kitchen is fully fitted in Oak with granite worktops, there is a breakfast bar area for 4 or a more formal dining table for 4. A Britannia oven with 6 ring gas hob & double multi function electric oven/2 fridges (for those Christmas & New Year groceries - 1 is never enough!)

A Bosch dishwasher, microwave & kitchen gadgets to make life easier.

2 very large Alston sofas provide for a relaxing lounge whilst watching the freeview TV or listening to music.

The Scandinavian log burner for those cosy winter evenings.

Downstairs a utility/boot room on entering with oak units & granite worktops, washer/dryer/freezer/heated towel rail & clothes rack.

2 bedrooms: a super king double which we can convert to a twin with a fully tiled en suite wet room & a twin with a fully tiled en suite bathroom with shower over, both have underfloor heating.

Plenty of wardrobe & drawer space in both rooms. Under stairs storage for luggage. Hall wardrobe for robes for use with hot tub, 'hotel style' slippers also provided.

Access from double room onto covered porch which houses hot tub & seating area, no need to venture outside in inclement weather, this leads onto a wrap around patio area which faces west, getting fabulous night skies as no light pollution. Bar b q/table & chairs/shed for bicycles.

Further details outdoors

Parking for up to 4 cars.
Secure alarmed parking for motorcycles.
Lockable storage for bicycles.
The west facing patio & totally private covered porch area with hot tub look out over a meadow.
Parking is off the road.
If we get 10 cars a day it's considered busy!
We are located in a farming hamlet so if the kids love animals they will be in their element, visiting ducks & chickens from the farm next door will entertain.

There are great walks across the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands part of the Peak District, some straight from the door, the Manifold Valley is right on our doorstep, so too the Hamps way.
Dovedale & historical Ilam are 10 mins by car.
It is safe to walk the circular 5 mile route on our single track lanes without worrying about too much traffic, perhaps the odd tractor or two!
