Response from the owner Thank you for such a nice review, glad you enjoyed your stay. We are attracting more people not wanting to use their car as everything is close to hand, within a few minutes walk. For those who want to walk the Marina is only half an hour or so walk, Harbour Lights Restaurant there does great meals including Sunday lunch. To walk right round the Naze is some seven miles and the sandy beaches stretch from Walton on Naze to St Osyth around twenty miles promenade all walkable. We look forward to welcoming you back. Response from the owner Grateful for the detailed review, we need to travel down from Norfolk on a more regular basis and adopt a more hands on approach. We do not profess to be a 5 star hotel, but we do profess to being a comfortable and clean family home, for families with children near the sea, that is cheaper than a caravan, albeit 70’s in style with WiFi. We now have a 39” Panasonic TV on the advice of this guest. This year we had installed a new gas cooker and new curtains in the lounge and main bedrooms. This guest made complaint, but still stayed for the week, conceding the house was clean and the bed the most comfortable slept in. Best Regards David and Val Sidey

“Good Location”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2021

The owners are very obliging and so to is Maureen next door who manages the property and if you need help or advise she is around to ask. The location of the property is excellent with both Frinton On Sea and Walton on the Naze within walking distance and so is the beach. The bedding and towels were extremely clean. The property is a little unkept particularly the front and back gardens whilst we were there . They were very over grown and the lawns needed mowing so unfortunately our 2 children couldn’t play out on it. The property could maybe do with re decorating and de-cluttering especially with Covid at the moment. The kitchen had all that you needed but could do with reducing as the cupboards were packed and so left little room for our food.We found we ate out most of the time and didn’t spend much time at the property apart from sleeping.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review, we are acting on your comments and thank you for bringing it to our attention. Sad about the grass not being cut as we employ a gardener. We have elected to employ a more hands on approach and travel down from Norfolk on a regular basis. Kind Regards David and Val Sidey

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind words,so glad that you enjoyed the house and your holiday, we do try to have everything to hand that you may need. You spoke of yapping dogs, there are dogs in the area but they have never been a problem, however there is a new dog settling in as the people have just moved there. Will investigate the 'squawking pet bird'. Can only add that as it is such a quiet cul-de-sac any noise is more noticeable, and we are sorry to hear that you were disturbed. Response from the owner House felt very wellWe arrived Saturday evening late in the evening, our neighbor gave us the key handed over briefly explained everything and had for coffee, tea, biscuits and fresh milk in the refrigerator, and was also helpful two days later to the site, as we with the gas stove did not get along right away. The decor is a bit older, but functional and very comfortable. It is really thought of everything, not only the kitchen is great there are also games for every age puzzle and books (even a German). A pretty, sheltered little garden with sitting area is also there. The large beds are very comfortable, we slept very well. The house is very quiet, but only a few minutes walk from the wonderful, miles long, wide sandy beach, without crowds and traffic noise, lined with pretty, colorful bath houses. Also a small shopping center is within walking distance in a few minutes. In the house are a lot of tips and information for interesting things to do and excursions. The check out was very uncomplicated. Thanks to Val, and David and Maureen Thank you so much for such a lovely review, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry it took so long translate and reply to you, I have only just managed to do it. We have had more people come from the EU which is lovely, so nice to have you, we do hope you will return one day to Rook View. Kind Regards Val and David
