Buttercrag cottage is situated in a quite corner of Grasmere but only 1 minutes walk from the centre of the village set on the banks of the river Rothay where lucky visitors may spot otters. With views across the fields towards Alcock tarn you may also view red squirrels and deer. The cottage is well equipped for 6 people and has gas central heating with an endless supply of hot water for you to soak your aching limbs after a long days walk, in either of the 2 bathrooms.

The property consists of Kitchen with fitted units equipped with an electric fan oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/ freezer and washer/dryer; large kitchen table for 6 set on the original Lakeland stone flags. Cosy lounge with comfortable seating for 6, Victorian feature fire place and flat screen T.V. DVD player. Books and local information tucked into one of the numerous wall cupboards.

Upstairs on the 1st floor is a double bedroom with small original fireplace with views over the river; a bunk bed room with full size pine bunks sporting fine views of Heron Pike and a bathroom with a corner bath, toilet and basin. On the top floor reached by an original steep flight of stairs is a bedroom with exposed beams that can be a double or twin room and another bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Outside there is ample parking for 3 cars with free access to 3.0 Kw home charging point for electric and hybrid cars and a south facing patio with table and chairs looking over the river towards Buttercrags and Alcock tarn.

No pets or smoking allowed in the cottage. Price includes electricity, gas, bed linen and towels. Cot and high chair available on request .Please note the cottage is cleaned and maintained by the owners who live in the village and are on hand if needed.

Getting around

Grasmere is on the main bus route though the lakes the bus stop is 150 metres from the cottage the nearest train station Windermere is 8 miles south and there is a bus to Grasmere every hour during the day

We live in Grasmere 200 metres from cottage and will call on you after you arrive to see you are settled and if you have any questions about the area.
