“Simply Perfect”
One of the best holidays we have had. Box of Delights is true to its name, Delightful. Extremely well equipped, and the welcome hamper was such a lovely gesture. The peace and tranquility of this break was so welcomed in such difficult times. Julie and Ray are very professional, helpful and friendly. Cannot speak highly enough of On the Wey Narrowboat Hire. Can’t wait to go again.

“Wonderful family break”
We had a wonderful family break on "Box of Delights". Everything was excellent from start to finish. We were all complete novices but had nothing to worry about. We were given all the guidance we needed to set off confidently including help with the first lock . The boat itself was beautifully presented and really spacious for a family of four. The welcome pack was a nice surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Wey Navigation and part of the Thames. The countryside was beautiful and varied and we enjoyed mooring at pubs and different parts of the towpath to explore. It's hard to think what could be improved. Highly recommended.

“After numerous other boating holidays an unrivalled experience, the 3 newbies of us are so content, we didn't miss it!”
Arriving from the Continent, we enjoyed after all still an unproblematic entrance via LHR, T5, followed by a swift bus and train transfer to the base, where the really warm welcome ended up with the comprehensive, yet also easily understandable tuition and briefing, which eventually led us into the first lock downstream, we coped with in a stress-free way, as advised by Ray in a perfect laid back manner. Thanks! Later on it was big fun, especially all the unmanned locks of the Wey Navigation. Pressing buttons in the "self service" River Thames' locks was quite different and visiting Windsor is doable, provided you are aware of the "Gift" encircling you. Smiley!

“A novices weekend”
Four complete novice guys aged 41, 58, 65 and 71 took on a weekend on Box of Delights. We worked out a route north to Addlestone with 3 nightime stopovers. We were given a comprehensive instruction including accompaniment to the first lock. We had a fantastic weekend which was a learning curve and where we made the odd mistake, we found other barge users extremely helpful and friendly. The barge was like a long caravan but with everything you could possibly need. Just poodling along the river was very calming and relaxing and by the end, we were getting through the locks quite professionally. Well almost. Wonderful weekend.
