This incredibly scenic, historic area is known as the 'Centre of Britain'.Positioned on the outskirts of Haltwhistle, this 19th century cottage is a cosy home-from-home. Offering a very high standard of accommodation, this recently refurbished property is comprised of a fully fitted kitchen, living room with dining area, two bedrooms and a lovely patio in the property's walled garden. This is a fantastic retreat for the summer holidays with the facilities for al-fresco eating and a wide variety of outdoor activities nearby, though for those 'English Summer' days, the property is equipped with Sky TV, a DVD player and a stereo system so that even when it rains, you won't be bored. Known as the 'Centre of Britain', this small village is easily accessible by car, bus and train. Note: Access into shower cubicle is quite narrow, please consider this when booking.

Amenities: Electric night storage heaters with electric stove in sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with basic Sky, video, DVD player, stereo/CD player. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Small walled patio area with garden furniture. Off road parking for 1 car with additional roadside parking also available. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops and pubs (serving food) 5 mins walk. Note: Access into shower cubicle is quite narrow, please consider this when booking

Region: Northumberland isa heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Town: The small market town of Haltwhistle is a vibrant place, offering a wide range of shops and other amenities. Home to The Black Bull â a proper, old fashioned pub, serving quality food and real ale â the village is a welcoming place to return to following a day of walking, pony trekking or cycling. With the Pennine Way and other great cycle routes and Bridleways running nearby, it's easy to enjoy this stunning scenery, which boasts dramatic castles, surging rivers and beautiful forests. Those interested in the country's history are sure to enjoy a visit to one of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall, only a mile north of the village, and with an ongoing dig on the site of Vindolanda, it's easy to get in touch with the nation's past. If history isn't your cup of tea, then there is a regular train and bus service in to Newcastle and Carlisle, meaning that you can leave your car behind and enjoy the nightlife the big cities have to offer.

Hasn’t had a good clean for a very long time hair’s etc behind sofas mold on the back of sofa .dust everywhere.cobwebs.towels stained could go on .

Smelt of damp. Wallpaper hanging off walls and ceilings. Paint on bedding. Flies, cobwebs not a pleasant stay .

This is a great little cottage but the second bedroom is very small. It is a bunk bed which is comfortable and big enough for adults but it swamps the room and there is very very little storage space.… More
